Tiger Update
Information/Updates about Pickerington High School Central
Message from Mr. Lanier
During morning announcements this week I challenged students to examine the energy that they put out in the world. I discussed how putting out positive energy into the world is reflected back to you and you generally have positive experiences. The same is true if you find yourself having a lot of negativity coming into your life; it may be a time to do some soul searching and look at the type of energy you are putting out to those around you. I challenged students to think about their daily personal interactions along with their presence in the digital world. When we all commit to being a light for others we build the type of community that is loving and supportive.
We also know that we are entering the time of year when we set our clocks back an hour. Once we fall back it gets dark earlier in the evening and is dark in the morning. Sometimes we lose our drive at this time of year. This video talks about the importance of perseverance and grit. The people who experience success are those that push through adversity and don't stop when they fail the first time. Failure is the first step in learning and is not a final setback IF you use what you learn from failure to get better. We are never going to be perfect but WE should always strive for progress and improvement. Doing that together is what our school community is all about.
Let's have a great week of learning.
Tiger Up,
Mr. Lanier

Job Shadowing Opportunities! What is job shadowing? Job shadowing is a learning experience where you observe a worker in their workplace to gain insights into a specific job role. Here are some things you can do during a job shadowing experience:
Observe how the professional uses software or technology
Attend meetings with the professional
Assist with minor tasks
Tour the office
Review work materials
Ask the professional questions about their job
Learn how the professional communicates with their peers or clients
The following companies have job shadowing programs:
Nationwide Children's Hospital
TP Mechanical -Construction Jobs
Atlas Butler- HVAC and Plumbing
Accurate- HVAC and Plumbing
If you are interested in shadowing at one of these locations, email Mrs. Brunner
