Message From Principal Kinney
Good Afternoon Everyone, I want to thank you all for the positive emails and notes of appreciation and support that I've received over the last few days. Sadly it has come to my attention that there is some Facebook chatter in the community suggesting that I am responsible for the decisions to cancel field trips or that I am not allowing them to happen- this is not true. I want to clarify that field trips are a grade-level decision, and I do not have any influence over whether a grade decides to take a field trip or not. My only role is to approve or not approve field trip plans. I do not plan them. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to me at any time. A quick conversation is always so much better than a Facebook post and can often avoid the spreading of fake news. I appreciate this consideration more than you would imagine! Cell phones have always been a hot topic in schools, and the current research on their impact on students and learning is more significant than ever. I encourage all caregivers to take a look at the resources that Mr. Snyder has put together.
From Mr. Snyder:
In this modern era, educators and parents are working to guide young people through the digital landscape. While teachers often report that cell phones impede students' progress, it's important to consider what the research indicates. Below are some articles offering evidence-based insights on this subject. We invite you to take a moment to explore them.

Update from the Fowler Counseling Department
We're excited to announce the launch of a brand new resource library within the Fowler School Counseling Department! This valuable addition to our support system was made possible by a generous grant from the Maynard Education Foundation (MEF).
The library will provide counselors, teachers, and student support staff with a wide range of books and access to an online journal subscription on topics related to social-emotional learning (SEL), academic success, and personal growth. These resources cater to different learning styles and offer valuable guidance for navigating challenges and fostering personal growth. The Fowler School Counselors are excited to start utilizing these resources with students, both inside and outside of the classroom.
This initiative aligns well with our commitment to fostering a supportive learning environment where every Fowler School student can thrive. We believe the new resource library will empower educators with tools to help students to develop essential life skills and reach their full potential.
This program was made possible by funding from Maynard Education Foundation.
Thank you, MEF, for your continued support!"
