Tiger Families,

Thank you for a wonderful start to the school year! We have a busy September ahead of us!

Labor Day is on Monday, September 2nd. There will be no school.

Our North PTO Read-A-Thon Fundraiser is kicking off Monday, September 2nd. It will run through September 27th. This fundraiser has been successful in the past and we encourage everyone to participate! The funds raised help support lots of great things at North!

The Boy Scouts of America will be on campus Wednesday, September 4th at 6pm for anyone interested in signing up.

Money and registration forms for the CCS Fun Run are due to Coach McDaniel on September 6th. The CCS Fun Run will be held on October 19th at 9:30am at Shelby High School.

We will be holding our Title I "Monster Booooot Camp" on Monday, September 9th. Please join us to learn about your child's curriculum, expectations, and more. Invitations were sent home this week. Please RSVP by September 6th so we can plan accordingly! Due to space concerns, only one parent/guardian will be allowed to attend per child. Thank you for understanding.

September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. Wear yellow on Wednesday, September 11th in support! We will also be selling Snocones during lunch for $1 with the proceeds going to North's Relay for Life Team.

Progress reports will be sent home on Thursday, 9/12.

Spirit Week will be the week of September 16th-20th.

• 9/16 - Wear your favorite North gear or Black and Yellow
• 9/17 - Twisted Tuesday - Students dress as teachers, teachers dress as students
• 9/18 - Beach Day - dress like you're going to the beach! (no swimsuits please)
• 9/19 - Disney Day - wear your favorite Disney shirt
• 9/20 - KM Day - Wear your favorite Mountie gear - School will Dismiss 2:00 this day for the KMHS Homecoming Parade

Parent/Teacher Conferences will be held on September 26th. School will dismiss at 1:00pm this day. Teachers will be in contact about scheduling conferences soon. Please be on the lookout for this!

Friday, September 27th is a teacher workday. There will be no school for students.

After much consideration, we have decided to not purchase the Pickup Patrol program this school year. To make transportation changes, please send your child's teacher a Dojo message or a written note. We will not take any transportation changes over the phone. To ensure we get all students home the correct way, all transportation changes must be made before 2:15 pm. Thank you for your help with this.

As a reminder, North has been approved as a CEP (Community Eligibility Provision) School again for the 2024-2025 school year. This means ALL students will receive free breakfast and lunch each day. As always, extras will be available to purchase. We will continue to use the LINQ Connect system for cafeteria purchases. Use this website to create an account.

Parents, I would like to remind everyone that students should not be dropped off in our front parking lot or on Ramseur Street in front of the school. This is a huge safety concern. Please make sure they are dropped off in the back of the building in the car line. Our line moves quickly!

Lastly, parents, please make sure you have your ID with you if you're coming to school to eat lunch or check out your child. Our sign-in/out system requires a driver's license or ID to be scanned. We strive to keep our students safe. This is one additional step we can use to ensure the safety of everyone here at school. Please share this information with anyone who may come to school to eat lunch with your child. Please note that visitors are not allowed to go to classrooms after lunch. Please say your goodbyes in the cafeteria. Thank you for your cooperation with this.
