Dear SMA Community,

We’re thrilled to announce that the big day has finally arrived! After a summer filled with hard work and major improvements, our beautiful new hybrid Bermuda grass field is now ready for action! To celebrate, our Student Council and administration hosted a special ribbon-cutting ceremony, with students gathering around the track to join in the excitement.

A member of our girls' varsity volleyball team had the honor of taking the first kick of the soccer ball as part of the countdown, which was followed by a joyful rush of students running onto the field. The celebration continued with Student Council leading the school in the Hokey Pokey, a freeze dance game, and a lively conga line that had everyone smiling.

We owe a huge thanks to all of our families for their continued support through fundraising efforts like the Walkathon and Turkey Trot over the years. A special shout-out to our generous sponsors and, most importantly, to Randall Harrison, a Class of ’66 alumnus, who made the final donation of $30,066 that brought this project to life.

We feel incredibly blessed and can’t wait to see the memories our students will create on this new field!

What if academics were a sport? Attend a Catholic AJHD event and you'll see exactly what it would look like. All the cheering, posters, high fives, and excitement is palpable! Families, coaches, and students are so proud of their hard work. Check out this video and this video from last year!

SMA began participating in the Catholic AJHD in 2021. This is our 4th year of participation and we are going in strong after gaining knowledge and strategies from previous years. We just learned that 5th graders are able to join this year! Applications are available in the office and are due on Monday, 9/30. Here is the contract preview for students who continue on to the team.

We need coaches! Coaching counts as volunteers hours and is so rewarding. Coaching times can be flexible and can occur online if needed. Books and study guides will be purchased. You'll have everything you need.

🏃🏻‍♀️Let's build up our endurance, Spartans! Cathedral Catholic High School is hosting a K-8 track meet this spring. But, there is a junior high event coming up 10/24/24: the St. Augustine Coach Gross Middle School Cross Country Track Meet. Coaches Rosie & Jeff Galford are forming a track team to practice after school on Mondays from 2:45-3:45 pm.

Food Assistance is in need for none perishable food to reach out to the less fortunate in our midst. We appeal to our caring Parish community to help us with items such as: jelly, canned chicken, Rice-A-Roni, meal helper, cold or hot cereal, canned fruit, peanut butter, Top Ramen. Please place the items in the food box in the vestibule of the church or bring them to the school office. In the month of August 2024 we provide 960 meals to families in need. Thank you for your support and prayers.
