Tiger Talk
September 2024
Beard's Bulletin
We are off to a great start this year. We have been able to manage numbers and keep class sizes
respectably low considering some of the budget cuts that we are encountering in the District. We are proud of Superintendent Nix and the CCPS Board of Education’s approach to manage the cuts without making it unbearable here at Tiger Creek. Also upcoming is our Grandparent Night on Thursday, Sept.12th . Make sure if you can--to be here at 5PM. We will start off in the Auditorium with a short presentation from the TCE PTO and will have the 2nd and 3rd Grades performing also that evening. Snacks will be available too! The year is underway! Thanks so much for your initial response to the annual canned food drive. It’s one more way TCE can give back to our community. Go Tigers!
The Dish with Mrs Dill's
Welcome back Tigers! We are so excited to kick off another fantastic school year here at Tiger Creek! Many of you have noticed our theme for the 24-25 school year-TCE Story-You’ve got a friend in me!
This is a belief that we truly stand behind. As a staff we want to be mentors, leaders, advocates, and a constant support system for every child that enters our doors.
One of the best ways that you can help us do this is through good attendance. Did you know that too many absences can keep students from succeeding in school and in life? Missing 10% of the school year (18 days or 2 days per month) can knock students off track (www.attendanceworks.org) We know that students will get sick…and when they are sick we want them to stay home. Remember we have a wonderful resource in Tiger Care/Primary Health Care that you can access if you are unsure if your child should attend school. Also please remember that all absence notes (Doctor and parent) must be turned in within 10 days in order to excuse absences. Late notes will not be accepted after that time frame. Thank you for helping us with this.
Again, we are looking forward to an amazing year at Tiger Creek!

One way Title l helps our school is by having resources available to help students reach their full potential. TCE has one of the best family resource rooms in the county. From flash cards to Leap Frogs, we have something your child will love. These items make learning fun and exciting. Contact Ms. Webster to check something out!
Did you know, you can request a meeting with your child's teacher anytime throughout the school year. Contact your child's teacher to schedule a meeting.
Parent/Teacher Compacts. Compacts will be sent home with students during the month of Oct. for you to sign and return to your child's teacher.
The purpose of a Compact. To outline how parents, faculty/staff, and students will share the responsibility for improved student academic achievement and the means by which the school and parents will build and develop a partnership to help children achieve the state’s high standards.
