Thursday, October 3rd is a non-school day for SPPS students due to District-wide Professional Development for Teachers and Support Staff. Childcare WILL be open.

October is College Knowledge Month!
There are some great field trips coming up in October, so be sure your field trip permission slips are turned in to Ms. Sparkman/Ms. Roozen!
- MN Career Connect Job Fair Field trip on Oct 15th from 12:15-2:15pm at the RiverCentre (bus from AGAPE provided for students)
- MN National College Fair Field trip on Oct 23rd from 9am-11:15am

FAFSA Information and Assistance IS AVAILABLE!!

Option #1: Free financial aid events are available to Minnesota students and families via Zoom. The series, running on Tuesday evenings in October, is intended for current high school students and will cover general information about the college application and financial aid process, details on the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), the Minnesota Dream Act for undocumented students, and other ways to pay for college. All sessions will have interpretation in Spanish, Somali, and Hmong. Attendees can ask questions in the chat and have them answered during the event by financial aid experts. Students who attend any of the sessions will be entered into a drawing to win a $1,000 scholarship (one entry per session attended). Space is limited so register soon! These sessions are offered by the Minnesota Office of Higher Education, Minnesota Department of Education, ECMC The College Place and Minnesota Goes to College. Option #2: Need help understanding the financial aid options for college? Attend free virtual sessions for high school students and families offered by a collaborative of financial aid experts starting October 1. All sessions will have interpretation in Spanish, Somali and Hmong. Students who attend any of the sessions will be entered into a $1,000 scholarship drawing. Health and Wellness at AGAPE
Health and Wellness
- Students are able to make appointments at the AGAPE HealthStart clinic for flu vaccines for themselves AND their babies. Contact them at 651-632-2189 or speak with AGAPE's School Nurse, Amy Buck.
- Free Covid tests available by mail from the government - sign up at COVIDTests.gov SPPS is no longer providing tests to families, so take advantage of this - 4 tests per household address!
- Other SPPS Health and Wellness Resources are available here
- Nurse Amy is at AGAPE on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays! Stop by the Health Office and say hello!
- Barb's Gardens at AGAPE are still putting out a lot of cherry tomatoes, and our beautiful 'rough blazing star' flowers are bringing us a ton of late season monarch butterflies, photo below!!
