Pack Leaders' Post
As we reach the halfway point of the school year, we want to take a moment to celebrate the incredible accomplishments of our students. From academic achievements to artistic and athletic successes, our students have shown dedication, resilience, and a love for learning. We are so proud of their hard work and the support they receive from our wonderful families and staff. As we look ahead to the next five months, we are excited to continue fostering growth, curiosity, and success for every child. Regulation Practice - Crossing Movements
Next week's strategy is called Crossing Movements.
Students will make a fist with the thumb inside and straighten their arms out to a 60-degree angle. They will then inhale with straight arms and cross in front of their forehead on the exhale. Then they will inhale with straight arms at a 60- degree angle and cross behind their head. Students will be encouraged to try to keep doing this for a minute.
We will encourage students to continue with their powerful breath as this focused attention strategy increases improved blood flow to the brain.
To try out previous week's regulation strategies, check out the Regulation Strategies page on our school website.
Kindergarten Registration Starts Soon!
Kindergarten registration opens for the 2025-26 school year TOMORROW. If your child is turning five on or before Dec. 31, 2025, you will want to follow the steps outlined here.
Returning Student Registration for 2025-26
The Elk Island Public Schools (EIPS) returning student registration process for 2025-26 takes place Feb. 10-24, 2025. Through the online form, all families will confirm the school and program their child will attend next year or advise the Division if they aren’t returning. For students who want to attend a non-designated school next year, these requests must be submitted through the returning student registration process—acceptance is based on available space.
On February 10, the parent/guardian on file in PowerSchool identified as the Permission Click contact for each pre-kindergarten to Grade 11 student will receive an email through Permission Click with a link to the form. If your family hasn’t received any Permission Click forms this school year, contact the school office so we can investigate any technical issues before registration season.
Fee Survey for Guardians
As a part of the EIPS Fee Consultation process we would like to get more feedback about our current school fees before we prepare for the 25-26 school year. Please take a few minutes to review our current fee schedule on our school website and provide us with your feedback. The survey will be open throughout the month of February. At our next School Council meeting on March 4th at 6:30pm we will be sharing the feedback from the survey as well as our proposed fees for the 25-26 school year and providing opportunities for feedback before submitting them to the Board of Trustees for approval in April.
January School Council Minutes
The minutes from our January School Council meeting are now available on our school website. Please take a few minutes to review them before our next meeting on March 4th at 6:30pm. We look forward to seeing everyone who can attend that night!
