Our Homeroom Mosaic: Identity, Artistry, and Unity
Dear Tilden Family,
The halls of Tilden Middle School are alive with excitement and creative energy! This week, our school spirit soared to new heights as students and staff channeled their artistic talents into our Homeroom Identity door decoration contest. The competition was fierce yet friendly, with each classroom weaving together elements of No Place for Hate and our cherished PACKS values into stunning visual displays of classroom identity.
Congratulations to our winning teams! On the First Floor, Mrs. Sen & Miller and Mrs. Gutwald (LFI) captured top honors. The Second Floor champions are Mrs. Page/Ms. Green and Mrs. Flanagan/Mr. Lamonica, while Mrs. Kim and Mr. Medrano/Mrs. Bray claimed victory on the Third Floor. Each winning display beautifully embodied our community's commitment to creativity and inclusivity.
Speaking of inclusivity, our No Place for Hate Committee is flourishing under the guidance of our DEI Coordinator, Angela Wang, and our dedicated caregiver volunteers – Dorigen Hofmann, Farhan Hameed, Chan Tei DuRant, and Rachel Lanman. It's inspiring to see 33 students across all grade levels come together, building connections through activities like the human scavenger hunt and collaborating on innovative project ideas. Their enthusiasm for fostering unity and addressing hate-bias and bullying is truly remarkable. Mark your calendars for their next meeting on November 8th!
As we enter the final stretch of the first marking period, the energy at Tilden continues to build. The SGA is adding to the excitement with our first Spirit Week of the year and a fall-themed Dance/Open Gym. With Native American Heritage Month celebrations on the horizon, our school community is buzzing with anticipation for all that November will bring.
These moments of connection, creativity, and celebration remind us of what makes Tilden truly special – our ability to come together as one community while celebrating our unique identities and contributions.
Warmly,
Sapna Hopkins

SGA Sponsored Spirit Week and Dance/Open Gym
Dear Timberwolf Students & Families!
Student Government Association, also known as SGA, is a group of students interested in making a positive difference at Tilden Middle School. SGA organizes many fun events and activities to make our school more inclusive and connected. We plan school dances, spirit days, candy grams, and more!
From Monday, October 27th, to Friday, November 1st, Tilden will have the first spirit week of the year! Students are encouraged to dress up, participate, and go all out! Posters will be hung up around the school to remind students of the theme each day. The themes are as follows: Anime Monday, Twin Tuesday, Students Dress As Teachers and Teachers Dress As Students Wednesday, Costume Day Thursday, and Pajama Day Friday.
As you know, Thursday, October 31st, is Halloween. On that day, there will be an afterschool fall-themed dance/open gym from 3 PM to 4:20 PM. It will be filled with music, raffles, a DJ, and many more fun activities! The activity bus will be available for any students who need to take the bus home after the party.
There will be an entry fee of $5, which will go back to the school to create even more fun events! Snacks will be for sale for $1 each.
We hope to see you there!
Sincerely,
SGA
