Farewell to Mrs. Micheles
We are sad to share that Mrs. Micheles, Student Services Coordinator, will be moving to a new position in IPSD204 next school year. There is no way to account for all the incredible ways Mrs. Micheles has impacted our Kendall community. Her commitment to serve students as individuals, her educational approach to behavior, and the relationships she has developed with students, staff, and families have shaped our school community over the past four years and will continue to do so long after her departure. While I am happy that more students and families in IPSD204 will benefit from having Mrs. Micheles oversee their learning, I am heartbroken for our Patriot family. Don’t forget about us Mrs. Micheles! Once a Patriot, Always a Patriot!
Summer + Family = Connections
This week, our Kendall Patriots will bring home summer learning bags in support of our Indian Prairie Summer Family Connections. These resources pair with grade-level zoom clubs for students this summer offered at no cost to families. Please see the letter in your child's bag for more information. We hope you and your family embrace the joy of reading this summer!
Last Day of School
Our last day of school for the 23-24 school year is Friday, May 31st. We are extremely proud of our students and all they have accomplished this year.
Please understand that any planned celebrations of the last day need to take place off school grounds. Dismissal from school must run as normal for student safety. Due to student allergies, silly string poses a significant danger, and it is not permitted on school grounds.
5th Grade Celebration
We hope our 5th graders will join us in wearing their 5th Grade t-shirts on this last day of school.
Families of current 5th grade students are invited to our 5th Grade Celebration on Friday, May 31st starting promptly at 2:00 p.m. in the Kendall Gym. Gym doors #4 and #5 will open at 1:50 and the ceremony will begin at 2:00 p.m. at which time the doors will close. Immediately following the celebration, our 5th graders will return to their classrooms and our 5th grade families will line the front circle for our Official 5th Grade Clap-Off. Families are invited to clap, cheer, and congratulate our 5th graders as they exit the building. Due to student allergies, no silly string is permitted at this event. 5th grade students are dismissed to parents at this time. See the map below for where to meet you child after the clap off. All other students will be dismissed at regular times. We will not call younger siblings down for early dismissal. The front circle must be cleared by 3:15 to allow for bus traffic to enter.
