ALT ALERT!
Del Amigo & Venture Alternative Education School
Principals Message
Hello SRVUSD AltEd Community,
October was a great month for Alternative Education. Our Venture and Del Amigo Fall Festivals were enjoyed by students and staff alike! Thank you to everyone who participated and helped with the activities.
We held Credit Crusher/Graduation Status workshops for both Del Amigo and Venture. During these workshops, students analyze their credit earnings and make goals for the future. The following students were recognized as Del Amigo GP 2 Credit Crushers - Ari, Analee, Emily, David, Sa’lone, Johanna, Lalit, Nataly, Angiue, Mo, CeCe, Kailey, Olivia, Quinn, Natalia, Justin and Jack! In addition we had two graduates- Madhia & Justin. We are so proud of all of their hard work and dedication! October was a very busy month to say the least.
Update- Last newsletter I informed Venture families that we would be allowed to give credits for Advisory. Due to a technical issue, we will not be able to do this for Semester 1. We are hoping to have this option for Semester 2! I apologize for miscommunicating. If you have any questions please feel free to reach out to me. Advisory is such an important class and part of our program I want to be able to reward students for their engagement!
Please remember that we have Monday, Nov. 11, 2024 off in honor of Veteran’s Day.
I look forward to a wonderful November!
Lynsie Castellano, Principal

National Native American Heritage Month
San Ramon Valley Unified School District recognizes the month of November as National Native American Heritage Month. We acknowledge that this country was home to generations of Indigenous Peoples long before the arrival of European explorers and that these tribes had a unique and vibrant culture. The California State Board of Education recognizes that each student needs an opportunity to understand the common humanity underlying all peoples and our California Frameworks state that the history curriculum must reflect the experiences of all people. During this month, a special focus is placed on improvement in education about Native American Heritage.
Substitute Educators Day: November 22, 2024
San Ramon Valley Unified School District recognizes November 22, 2024, as Substitute Educators Day. Our substitute educators are an essential part of the education of students in our district. They provide continuity in the learning process and safe, healthy learning environments for students. The Board of Education and the district administrative team extend sincere appreciation to the substitute educators of SRVUSD and encourage the community to celebrate their contributions.
