Dear Weller Families:
Thank you for all of your help Friday morning for the Field Day Activities. Your students had a great time. We appreciate your time and energy. Your enthusiasm was contagious!
Big thanks to our Riverside seniors (former Weller students) who came to help with the games. It is always super sweet when our former students return to support the younger Wild Cats.
We have BIG PTO events coming up!
On Monday, October 21st, the PTO Mom's Apple Pie sale begins! Don't miss out on some delicious pies for the holiday season.
On Friday, October 25th, it is the PTO Fall Festival. Come join the fun.
We hope you have been able to enjoy the beautiful weekend.
Respectfully yours,
Julia Burton, Principal

Help us fill the staff lounge with treats to fuel our teachers and staff for the second quarter of school. Donations may be dropped off at the main entrance of Steuart Weller on Wednesday, October 30 between 7:30 am - 3:00pm or Thursday, October 31 between 7:30 am - 10:00am. To make other arrangements for donation drop off please email Mrs. Hasenei.
Student Birthdays:
Just a friendly reminder that LCPS has a policy that students refrain from bringing in treats (such as cupcakes) for their class to celebrate their birthday. We encourage prizes, such as a pencils, squishy balls, etc in place of food items. At Weller, we pride ourselves in modeling our motto - "Each Unique...All One Family"! When purchasing items, please remember to have enough items for the entire class. Individual invitations for a private party are not allowed to be distributed at school.
Important Survey to Provide Your Parental Voice:
Loudoun County Public Schools is seeking input on Bell Schedules and future School Calendars. Your input on this topic is important. Here is an overview of the purpose for this survey.
Take some time to complete this IMPORTANT SURVEY - The survey should take approximately 5 minutes. Check your email inbox for an email sent by LCPS Superintendent - Dr. Spence on October 1, 2024.
Great News - No Asbestos at Weller:
Loudoun County Public Schools (LCPS) performs regular inspections of school buildings and facilities in accordance with the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Asbestos Hazard Emergency Response Act (AHERA), which was signed into law in 1986. As required by the Commonwealth of Virginia and the EPA, this notification is to inform you that there are no known asbestos-containing materials (ACM) in Steuart Weller Elementary School.
This building was constructed after the passage of AHERA and has been certified by the architect or general contractor to have not been built with asbestos-containing materials. A copy of this certification is maintained in the school’s Asbestos Management Plan.
Copies of all Management Plans are maintained in the Loudoun County Public Schools Facilities Services Environmental Division offices, located at 741 Miller Drive, Leesburg, Virginia. For all inquiries regarding the asbestos management plan and asbestos-related issues in our facilities, please contact the LCPS-designated asbestos program manager, Cristina Windover, at ehs@lcps.org or 571-420-0513.
LCPS is committed to providing safe schools for all students and employees in our division. It is LCPS’ intention to comply with all federal and state regulations regarding asbestos and to take whatever steps necessary to ensure students and employees have a healthy and safe environment in which to learn and work. Thank you for your attention to this important issue.

We are officially launching our "Watchdog Parents" program for 2024-2025. What is this wonderful program you ask? This is an opportunity for parents to become role models for our students. You will have the opportunity to work with classes, students, and your children's classroom throughout the day. You pick the full day or half day to commit your time working with the Wild Cats.
