Shepherd High School Weekly Update
19 August 2024
Brief Message From the Principal
Thank you all for your patience and help with our water situation this past week. Students and staff did a great job of being flexible. With the trimester winding down, take a few minutes and reflect back. What things did you do well this trimester and what are things that you could do to improve next trimester? Set some new goals and make a plan to get them done!
Senior Parents!!! Make sure to get your student's cap and gown ordered in the next couple of weeks. Right now we only have about 10% of the Senior class who have taken this step. Information has gone home in multiple ways, at multiple times, and is also linked below.

Cap and Gown Orders
Sunday, Dec 1, 2024, 08:00 AM
Online
Just a reminder to senior parents that the deadline for ordering caps & gowns and graduation announcements is December 1. Brochures were given to the seniors at a meeting several weeks ago regarding this. Orders should be placed online at www.miherffjones.com. For any questions please do not call the high school office, please email questions to info@miherffjones.com.
We will again make it clear that you are NOT allowed to cut the lunch line--even if you have a lunch meeting or other lunch obligation. Walk fast and get to the lunch line quicker; DO NOT cut the line.
The only time you can move up in the line is if a staff member physically comes down and escorts you to the front of the line for a specific reason.
We will continue to discipline students who disrespect their classmates by cutting them in the line.
Grade Check
If you are need help getting a PowerSchool Parent Sign-in, please reach out to the High School office for help. A weekly check in on grades/progress will help to keep you student on track.
Virtual Financial Aid Presenations
Students and families looking for help paying for college can attend an upcoming Virtual Financial Aid Presentation provided by MI Student Aid. There are 5-6 dates available for those interested.

We have had a lot of phone calls made to cell phones with a full voicemail boxes. If you could take a few minutes and delete some of those messages it would be wonderful. When we call and can not reach anyone, or leave a message, it often leads to lots more phone calls in trying to track someone done for their student or with dead ends leaving your student needing to be in touch.
Shepherd Public Schools' App (Apple and Android)
We're thrilled to re-announce the new app for Shepherd Bluejays! It's everything Shepherd Bluejays, in your pocket. Download the app for Android or iPhone.
Transportation
If you plan to have your student riding a bus, you need to call Transportation (989 828-4539) to get them on the roster. For safety's sake we need to know the names of students riding.
