Sunflower Weekly Update

Sunflower Families,

As the school year comes to a close, we want to take a moment to express our gratitude for your trust, support, and partnership throughout your students' academic journey this year. The partnership between families and schools is a crucial piece to a successful school year.

The school year has been filled with celebrations, challenges, and countless opportunities for growth. Watching the students learn, smile, and develop has been a truly rewarding experience for our staff.

We hope each family has a relaxing and safe summer break.

We look forward to their return in August for another school year full of adventure, but for now, we will enjoy our rest and relaxation, too. Thanks again for a great school year.

Our Office hours will be 8:00 am - 4:00 pm Monday -Thursday, excluding Memorial Day. We will close for the summer on June 5th.

• June 9 -July 14 PowerSchool not available to parents.

• July 15 Online registration opens around noon. A district-wide email sent from PowerSchool Registration will let parents know registration is open.

• July 31 Last day to register and be guaranteed transportation during the first two weeks of school. Otherwise, the first day for guaranteed transportation will be Sept. 2.

• Aug. 5 Transportation information available to parents through PowerSchool

• Aug. 11 Sunflower Meet Your Teacher Night, 4:30 pm - 6:00 pm

• Aug. 13 First day of school, grades 1-6, 9, and new students to USD 385 in grades 10-12

• Aug. 14 First day of school, grades 7-8 and 10-12

• Aug. 17 First day of school, kindergarten, Pre-K and Early Learning

• Aug. 21 Transportation fees must be paid or student will no longer be allowed to ride the bus

• Sept. 2 Students who signed up for transportation after July 31 are guaranteed transportation.

• Sept. 2 Final deadline for online registration; accounts will be deactivated for those who have not registered.

Kindergarten parents will be notified via a separate email of their student's staggered start date. Please watch for this email which will include the date and time slot for your child.

Be sure to mark your calendar for the Kindergarten Playdate on Saturday, Aug. 16th at 10:00 am. This is a fun tradition for our incoming kindergarteners and their families to meet each other and also learn who their teacher will be. School supplies can also be brought to this event.

Important Note: If you have NOT submitted the Intent to Register for your incoming kindergartener, please hop on the district website and complete this form. Thank you and have a wonderful summer!

If you are moving out of the Andover School District to into another Andover elementary school attendance area, please contact our Office at 316-218-4730. This will help us make your transition as smooth as possible and help us plan for the upcoming school year. Thank you!
