Golf Team Stays Busy with Strong Performances
Our Golf Team has been putting in the work, staying busy with multiple competitions this past week. The team started the week by finishing 2nd at the Fluvanna Invite at Lake Monticello Golf Course on Monday. Coach Toms gave our less experienced golfers the opportunity to shine and the players stepped up to deliver a remarkable result. Additionally, the team dominated in two Jefferson District matches, securing back-to-back dominant victories against Orange and Fluvanna. Keep swinging for success, team!
Volleyball Team Gains Experience at Wilson Memorial
The Volleyball Team traveled to Wilson Memorial on Thursday for a challenging match against a seasoned, veteran team. While it was a tough competition, our players gained valuable experience that will surely benefit them as the season progresses. The team's resilience and ability to adapt on the court were on full display, and we're excited to see how they grow from this experience. Great effort, team!
Field Hockey Shows Talent in Covenant Scrimmage
Our Field Hockey Team hit the field for a scrimmage against Covenant, and they did not disappoint. The players showcased their skills and teamwork, giving a glimpse of what we can expect in the upcoming season. This scrimmage was a great opportunity to fine-tune their game, and the team is looking strong as they prepare for the start of the regular season. Fantastic work, Field Hockey—keep up the momentum!
JV & Varsity Football Displays Offensive Firepower in Staunton Scrimmages
Our JV Football Team hosted Staunton for a scrimmage on Wednesday while the Varsity Football Team hit the road for a scrimmage against Staunton on Friday night. Both teams displayed serious offensive firepower, executing multiple explosive plays and showcasing their potential for the upcoming season. These scrimmages were a great test, and the team's performance has everyone excited for what's to come. Keep grinding, team—big things are on the horizon!

We will also have a spring signing day for Division III student-athletes and late-signing Division I & Division II athletes.
Expanded Opportunities for Student-Athletes
As we continue to enhance our extracurricular offerings, we are excited to explore the possibility of introducing several new intramural sports programs at our school. These programs would provide students with additional opportunities to stay active, learn new skills, and enjoy friendly competition with their peers.
We are currently considering the following sports for our intramural program:
Archery
Boys Volleyball (Spring)
Ultimate Frisbee
Pickleball
To help us gauge the level of interest and ensure we provide activities that our students are enthusiastic about, we kindly ask you to take a few moments to complete a brief survey. Your feedback will be invaluable in our planning process.
Please note that these intramural programs would be open to all skill levels, from beginners to those with more experience. Our goal is to foster a fun, inclusive environment where everyone can participate and enjoy.
Thank you for your time and input. We look forward to hearing from you and potentially bringing these exciting new sports to our school community.

Senior Spotlight
Ava & Jenna Peters
Senior Jenna Peters (#21), like her sister, has been playing Field Hockey for the past 10 years. She is also part of the school's Environmental Studies Academy. During her time at Western she has received academic awards for 9th grade Honors English, 10th grade Honors Chemistry, and 11th grade PVCC Bio. Outside of school, Jenna is active in her church and finds time to volunteer at the Crozet Art and Crafts Festival. Her favorite memory from Field Hockey was going to states last year. She would like to thank her parents and her grandparents for all of their support.
