BOOSTERTHON KICKBALL GAME Our first ever Students vs. Teachers Kickball Tournament was a blast!! The sun was shining and field conditions were ideal for the battle. With enthusiastic cheers from the crowd, Bass's and Chalk's classes fell to the teachers, but Oduyoye's class pulled out a victory. Thanks to the teachers, staff, and parents who made this day possible. Until next year...

"Changing Families" Counseling Group Coming Soon.....
Beth Hill, our school counselor, is starting a group in October for students who have parents that are separated or divorced. This group will be called “Changing Families” and will meet weekly for 6 weeks. This could be a recent change or one from the past; all students are welcome! Children benefit from being in a group with peers who are in a similar life situation. Group members will learn from one another and develop strategies for managing their feelings around the change. Please call or email Beth with questions or to express interest for your child(ren). hille@sycamoreschools.org

PTO NEWS & NOTES
MAKING A DIFFERENCE
On Monday, October 10, several Montgomery Elementary students and parents participated in an after-school service activity sponsored by the Make a Difference Committee. They made 100 sandwiches and then packed fifty lunch bags with the sandwiches, a drink, and dessert. The students were big helpers, doing everything from making sandwiches to decorating the lunch bags, to helping with clean-up. The lunches were then donated to the St. Francis-St. Joseph Catholic Worker House in Over-the-Rhine. A big thanks to everyone who donated time and materials!
SKELETONS IN YOUR CLOSET?
Please consider donating your gently-used children's Halloween costumes to our new Sister School -- Winton Hills Academy! As part of Cincinnati Public Schools, Winton Hill Academy serves underprivileged families in grades K-6 who can barely afford basic necessities. We hope to provide a few extras to make their Halloween special. Please leave your costumes in the school lobby under the stairs by FRIDAY, OCTOBER 21. Questions? Contact Karen Weese, Sara Bruns, or Carly Lawless.
STAFF APPRECIATION DINNERS 10/27 AND 11/3
Want to volunteer and don't have much time? We could use your help completing a feast for our teachers and staff during conference time! Many items don't need to be homemade! Just drop off your contribution and we'll get everything set up.
