March 2025
Dear Crusader Families,
Before the Prayer Service today, one student from every grade came up to pick a popsicle stick. On the popsicle stick was the item that the grade would be responsible for planting, caring, and harvesting in the school garden. There are new items that will be grown in the school garden this year. Mrs. Barhorst chose the items based on the students' favorites and items that the students will eat once they are harvested. Many thanks to Mrs. Barhorst for all she does to keep the school garden thriving and set up for success!
Every Friday during Lent, the Knights of Columbus are hosting the Fish Fry in the school cafeteria. This Friday, grades 4 and 5 are trying to win most participation! If you haven't signed up to help your child's class win the participation challenge, the link to sign-up can be found under Lent Resources.
Lastly, the Installation Mass for the new Archbishop is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 3. Since the Mass will be live-streamed, all students in grades K-8 will watch the Mass in their classrooms. It is a rare opportunity to see this type of celebratory Mass. To view the livestream Mass, please visit the following link: Archbishop | Livestream - Archdiocese of Cincinnati
As always, thank you for all you do to support the school!
Gratefully,
Sarah Bitzer
Principal

2025 St. Francis de Sales Fish Fry
The proceeds of this year’s Fish Fry will go toward our school kitchen renovations and other worthy SFDS causes. Church community volunteering is what makes this event a success! Pick the spots that best fit your schedule and interests. Remember, this is a great way for youth to get volunteer hours as well. We highly encourage those who need service hours to sign up. For the first four weeks, we’ve grouped school and Youth Faith Formation classes as indicated in the SignUp Genius to distribute the volunteering load. Feel free to organize together within those groups to fill the spots. Please also feel free to just show up anytime to help if the set shifts don't work with your schedule. We will never turn away the help! We can't do it without YOU!!
We are also asking for dessert donations to provide a sweet finish to each meal. Please bring desserts to the cafeteria before 5:00 PM each Friday.
SFDS and the SFDS Knights of Columbus Council #14408 thank you in advance for your time, talent and treasure!
