🏫 District Reminders
🚩 Spam and Phishing Emails 🚩
Dear Manville School District Families and Community,
We want to make you aware of an increasing number of spam and phishing emails targeting school communities across the country—including ours. These fraudulent messages often appear to come from trusted sources and can pose serious risks if not handled carefully.
Please note: The Manville School District will NEVER send emails requesting your personal bank information or asking you to text back personal details or respond to unusual requests.
Here's what to look for and how to protect yourself:
🚩 Warning Signs of a Spam or Phishing Email:
- Unusual or urgent requests (e.g., "Can you send me your bank info?" or "Text me right away")
- Misspelled email addresses that look similar to official ones
- Generic greetings like "Dear Parent" instead of your name
- Unexpected attachments or links
- Offers or threats that create a sense of urgency or fear
✅ How to Stay Safe:
- Do not click on suspicious links or open unexpected attachments
- Do not reply to emails asking for sensitive information or money
- Double-check the sender’s email address—official messages will always come from a @manvillesd.org address
- If unsure, contact the school or district office directly before taking action
- Keep your devices and antivirus software up to date
If you receive a suspicious message claiming to be from someone in the Manville School District, do not respond. Instead, please forward the email to MailConcerns@manvillesd.org so we can investigate and take action if necessary.
Thank you for your continued support and vigilance in keeping our school community safe online.
We are thrilled to be able to offer our community of brilliant students 12 full scholarships to the highly regarded, 5th annual Global Entrepreneurship Experience Virtual Week-long Camp offered in partnership with Rutgers in July.
