PBIS is a process for creating safer and more effective schools. The process focuses on improving a school’s ability to teach and support positive behavior for all students. Rather than a prescribed program, PBIS provides systems for schools to design, implement, and evaluate effective school-wide, classroom, non-classroom, and student specific discipline plans. PBIS includes school-wide procedures and processes intended for:

• ALL students, ALL staff and in ALL settings
• Non-classroom settings within the school environment
• Individual classrooms and teachers, and
• Individual student supports for the estimated 3-7% of students who present the most challenging behaviors.

We have established expectations for all areas of our school. The expectations are taught to the students at the beginning of the year and revisited many times throughout the year. The matrices are posted on campus as well as being available to view on the website and in the student handbook. The PBIS recognition system was implemented to acknowledge schools who implemented PBIS with fidelty to the national framework. Ramona was one of 10 Chino Valley schools to receive the highest recognition of Platinum. We are proud to be able to serve our students well!

Donations of snacks (chips, cookies, candy) and Gatorade for our PBIS Store are appreciated. Please drop off at the school office.

Each month we teach our students a new character trait. At the end of the month, teachers nominate a student from each class who exemplifies that character trait and they are awarded with the Golden Ticket Award! They receive a treat and get their name on the bulletin board in the office! This month our character trait is Tenacity.

Join us once a month for coffee with the principal. All families are welcome to attend to learn more about various topics and have meaningful conversations with other families and school staff. Our first event will be this Friday, September 8th at 9:15 am. Pleae call the school office for more information.
