MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL
Hello, Patriot Families!
What a wonderful week we've had!
Thank you for all the support you've shown in our school-wide can food drive. It's inspiring to see our community come together to help those in need. Your generosity has been heartwarming, and we're so grateful for each can that’s been donated so far.
We’re also excited to announce that with a $10 donation to the Christian Care Center Drive, students and staff will receive a bracelet to wear that allows sweats every day during the week of November 18-22! The link below may be used to donate or cash may be turned into the front office.
This is a great way to support our cause and get comfortable while doing good.
Let’s keep up the momentum! With your continued help, we can make a real difference for families this holiday season. Keep those cans coming, and thank you for making our school community such a caring and compassionate place.
Warm regards,
Beth Craighead

6th GRADE WELLNESS AND REPRODUCTIVE HEALTH INSTRUCTION
Permission Forms due on Wednesday, Nov. 6
In accordance with Wylie ISD Policy EHAA(LOCAL), the Wylie Independent School District provides Health Education and human sexuality instruction in compliance with state law and Board policy. Wylie ISD has chosen to implement The Goodheart-Willcox Company Health curriculum as a part of our health education in grades 6, 7, and high school Biology. The Wylie ISD SHAC (School Health Advisory Council), which is made up of community members and parents, recommended this curriculum to the district after an extensive review of available curriculum materials. As required by law, the District must obtain written consent before a student can be provided human sexuality instruction.
Our teachers are committed to helping each student to resist negative pressures from media and peers, and to make healthy decisions for their future. The program is aligned to the state mandated health TEKS (Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills)(RULE §115.26) and makes a specific effort to involve parent interaction and support. Each lesson will have parent/student discussion questions. These are intended to help parents continue the conversation about what was discussed in class that day. Please reference these resource activities each evening during the unit.
