Dear BES Families,

Thank you so much for a great weekend! Not only did so many come out to the last minute ice cream social at Cella's on Friday- but our GLOW BASH last night was a BLAST! It was a beautiful night and we had so much fun! Thank you to our incredible staff for coming to help and to our AMAZING LHS students for volunteering! They helped set up, clean up, and made sure our students had a fun night. Also, thank you to the Louisburg Fire Department and to Mickey Levey, the Cotton Candy Man, for coming out and joining us! We will be sharing the totals and our winners later this week!

This Friday is our first home football game. Families, I ask that you please make sure your children are in the stadium watching the game with you and their friends. It is worrisome when I see our students running around outside of the stadium or in the parking lot after dark.

We have two new Broadmoor Breakdowns below on our new BES schedule and our upcoming Parent Information and SEL Information Night on September 20th. Save the date! OOPS - the videos aren't working...so I'll work on those to get them up soon!

Welcome to the Broadmoor Breakdown! We will be sharing informative videos on our weekly messages, our website, and on our Facebook page to help you be more in the know!

Students have begun activities with 5th-grade band! This week we will make sounds on the flute headjoint and clarinet mouthpiece. So many students were successful at making sounds on the brass instruments! Students will be able to select from the following instruments for this year:

• flute
• clarinet
• trumpet
• trombone
• alto saxophone (a select few)
• french horn (a select few)
• baritone (a select few)
• percussion (must try-out and we accept 6)

Please sign-up for percussion try-outs here! If Wednesday or Thursday do not work for you then please email Mr. T.

Meyer Music is hosting a rental night here at Broadmoor Elementary School on Thursday, September 7th 2023 from 5:30-7:00 PM. Renting an instrument is the most popular way to get an instrument for the year. You can fill the contract out in advance HERE and just pick up the instrument that night!

If you are not able to purchase or rent an instrument then please contact Mr. Tiedeman at tiedemanz@usd416.org. We will do our best to get an instrument for anybody who needs one!

Vision and hearing screens will begin on September 13th.
-3rd, 5th grades and students with IEP to be screened for vision
-3rd grade and students with IEP to be screened for hearing

Results will be uploaded into skyward and if follow up with a Dr is needed, a paper copy will be sent home.

If you DO NOT wish for your child to participate in these routine screenings, please notify Nurse Candice in writing. Email is great. prothec@usd416.org

Please be sure to provide up to date immunization records for your child. If your child has not met state requirements for immunizations in order to attend school, a first notification will be sent home with your child.
