Principal's message
Hello Lowell Families! I hope your family is enjoying this sunny Friday! We have had another great week of Learn at Home with our Lowell students! I appreciate all of their hard work and efforts! I have been joining some classroom zoom sessions and love seeing those smiling faces! We miss our students but certainly appreciate getting to see them and spend time with them during the classroom learning sessions.
Next week is a special week for our teachers and staff. It is Teacher Appreciation Week! Our Lowell teachers are top notch! We are so fortunate to have such hard working and caring teachers! I feel honored and blessed to work with such dedicated professionals! Over the past several weeks, we have kicked off each week with a spirit day Monday. This Monday is going to be Thank a Teacher Day! We are asking our students to take some time on Monday to thank their teacher. Students can create a thank you sign for their teachers. They can decorate their thank you signs and then have someone take a picture of them while holding it. Please forward these pictures to your teacher or to Mrs. Griffin at kgriffin@warren.k12.in.us We will post these on social media next week! Thank you for helping us to thank our Lowell Staff and make next week a special one for them!
Registration for Kindergarten and Preschool in Warren Township begins on Monday, May 4th. There will be a live webinar Monday evening at 7pm. Principals and teachers will present information about Kindergarten and Preschool programs in Warren, demonstrate information about how to register online, and conduct a live question & answer session with audience members. Children must be age 5 on or before September 1 to register for Kindergarten and age 3 on or before September 1 to register for Preschool. We hope many of you can view and participate in the webinar on May 4 at 7:00pm. Please look for the Kindergarten Registration flyer in our newsletter this week for other important information about what is needed for the registration process.
The District will be making a couple of adjustments to our food outreach program starting the week of May 4th. We will continue on Tuesdays and Fridays from 11am -1pm at 11 locations. Renaissance School, located at 30th and Post Road, will be a new site and will replace Hawthorne Elementary. Wednesday food distribution will continue to be from 5:30pm- 7pm at 2 locations. We will continue on Wednesdays at Lakeside Elementary and will add a new site at our Moorhead location at 8400 East Tenth Street. Because there is a need for a refrigerated space, we could no longer use Post Road Christian Church. We appreciate Post Road Christian Church and their partnership with our food outreach program. If you have needs beyond what is being offered, please call or email our hotline at 317-869-4308 or MSDWarrenOutreach@warren.k12.in.us.
Please remember, the district has set up a Learn at Home/eLearning hotline for Warren families. The number is 317-608-0545. Please do not hesitate to reach out if you have any questions or needs related to Learn at Home lessons, devices, or technology.
Thank you, again, to our parents and caregivers for continuing to support your children and their learning! We appreciate all you do! Let’s remember to take some time next week to reach out to our teachers and show our support during Teacher Appreciation Week. I hope to see many students with their thank you signs on Monday! Have a great weekend and enjoy the sunshine! Take care and be safe!

MSD of Warren Township Survey Regarding WiFi Connection at Home
MSD of Warren Township is evaluating our technology needs and how to better serve our families and students of the district. Since iPads and Chromebooks require a WiFi connection, we are interested to know whether our students have access to WiFi at home. We are asking the parents of our K-4 students to please take a few minutes to complete an important survey to help us to better understand the technology needs of our families. Please take a few minutes to complete this important survey for the district. We appreciate your time in doing so.

School Counselor Connection
Even though we are not physically in the school building, Mrs. Hand, Lowell's school counselor is still here for all of our Lowell family. If there is anything she can do for you, please reach out to her at bhand@warren.k12.in.us.
