Sunnyvale Library Earns Excellence Award
The Doris Padgett Public Library in Sunnyvale has received the 2023 Achievement of Library Excellence Award from the Texas Municipal Library Directors Association (TMLDA,) an affiliate of the Texas Municipal League. To successfully receive the Achievement of Library Excellence Award, the library must exhibit excellence by providing services to underserved and special populations, enhancing services, marketing in innovative ways, promoting cultural, topical, and educational programming, providing literacy support, providing summer reading clubs, pursuing collaborative efforts, supporting workforce development, providing for digital inclusion, and comprehensively training staff. Of the 545 public libraries in Texas, only 84 received this award in 2023.
Mobility Plan Traffic Counts to Begin Feb. 12
You might notice some special monitoring equipment as illustrated in this graphic at several Sunnyvale intersections. The Town of Sunnyvale is launching a Mobility Plan study to determine future transportation needs for the Town. As part of this effort, data collection will begin the week of Feb. 12 at multiple intersections to measure existing traffic counts.

We're still looking for a foster home for Kodak, a one-year-old German Shepherd. Kodak has severe anxiety issues and needs lots of care and attention. He is a great, loving dog. He's just very needy right now.
The Town will be responsible for Kodak's healthcare and food while in foster care. He can be adopted for FREE, and his new owner will be responsible for his continued health and recovery.
If you can assist, please contact the Sunnyvale Animal Shelter at (214) 862-4525.
