Dear Huskie Community,
I hope students were able to enjoy the long weekend and are refreshed and ready to return to learn.
This year, we did not have Columbus/Indigenous People Day off from school. Next year, we do have a day off school which creates a 5-day weekend for students. The calendar for next year has been posted on the district website: 2025-2026 School Year Calendar.
We have some celebrations to share:
- NNHS French Teacher Lisa Shamrock was selected by AATF (American Association of Teachers of French) as Illinois French Teacher of the Year! She will receive the award this week at the ICTFL (Illinois Council on the Teaching of Foreign Language) Conference.
- NNHS Boys Water Polo Coach Kelly Reif was selected as the IHSA Coach of the Year! See the link with details below.

Boys Bowling Try-Outs
The Boys Bowling team has try-outs in just a couple weeks! Gather your friends and head to the lanes to brush off your bowling skills, and be sure to register in preparation for joining the legendary Bowl Dawgs this season. Try-outs will be at Fox Bowl at 4:00-5:30 PM on October 28th & 29th. Check out the INFO DOC below about the team and contact Coach Sanford at @tsanford@naperville203.org with any questions.

H&S Staff Appreciation: Calling all Bakers! Treats are needed to appreciate our amazing NNHS Staff! Please help the H&S Staff Appreciation committee celebrate staff at their Staff Appreciation Chili Lunch TakeOver by donating a dozen homemade sweet treats!
- No nuts of any kind please in donations including the gluten free desserts (ex: no almond flour please).
- All donations should be dropped off on Wednesday, October 23 between 7:30am-3:30pm inside the Naperville North Front Entrance. There will be a cart for goods. Please deliver on single use plates/containers/bags as we will be unable to return any items.

NNHS Fall Blood Drive
NNHS School Government, along with Home & School, are hosting their annual NNHS Fall Blood Drive on Thursday October 24th from 8:00-1:00pm in the Field House. This blood drive is open to all Huskie family members, relatives, and neighbors. The minimum age to donate is 16. Please check in at the main entrance when you arrive and be sure to bring a photo ID.
- Students that are 16 must fill out a parental consent form provided in the Student Activities office.
- Students that are 17 or 18 can donate without parental consent but they do still need to sign up for a time using the link below.

- We also accept walk-ins for students 17 and older.

Yearbook Photos - Underclassmen
Freshman, Sophomore, and Juniors: This is your Last Chance for Underclassmen Yearbook Photos: Make-up and retake photos for underclassmen will be taken during all lunch hours on Tuesday, October 22 in the Small Cafeteria (garage area near the Courtyard.) Students who did not have their pictures taken by Lifetouch at registration and do not come to this photo opportunity will not be pictured in the yearbook.
Senior News
Seniors, your cap/gown and graduation products group ordering dates are October 15 – 29th. Make sure you order by the deadline and take advantage of a couple of special promotions available to you during those two weeks! All orders are done online. Jostens will be emailing this information to discuss with your parent or guardian. Jostens will also be in school, during lunch, on the 16th to answer any questions you may have. Sophomore News
Sophomores, it’s time to order your class ring! Orders are online with an October 15th deadline. We’ll be in school the next day, October 16th, during lunch. Stop by and confirm your order and double check your ring size. If you order by the deadline, you receive up to $75 Off, a FREE Class of 2027 Hoodie, and a FREE Gratitude Ring to wear until your ring is delivered. SPECIAL SCHEDULE – WEDNESDAY, 10/23/24 (PSAT/NMSQT TESTING)
Wednesday, October 23rd is an important day for juniors as they will take the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT). To provide our juniors with the best possible testing experience, we will have a special school day on October 23rd that differs from our standard Wednesday late arrival schedule. This information is outlined below.
Grade 9 & 10 Students: Regular class attendance with modified schedule (7:45 a.m. - 12:45 p.m.)
Grade 11 Students: PSAT/NMSQT Testing (bring fully charged chromebook, photo ID, pen/pencils) (7:45 a.m. – 11:15 a.m.)
Grade 12 Students: Not in attendance and should utilize the time for post-secondary preparation
