Morton West

As your summer break comes close to the end, I would like to welcome you back for the 2020-2021 school year. While this summer felt very different than other years, my family and I found ways to build memories and make adventures. I hope that during the past months, you have had the opportunity to discover things to inspire you or time to practice talents that you did not have time for in the past.

I am truly excited to be your principal and am looking forward to leading and serving the Morton West community.

Our building administrative team has some new faces this year and everyone is truly looking forward to working with you as we continue our mission to make Morton West High School a place where every student succeeds.

My hope is that you will look forward to this weekly newsletter where you will be able to find information about the happenings at Morton West.

Join us for our first VIRTUAL Open House on Thursday, August 27th 5:30-7:30PM

Orientation

• Student Orientation was held on August 19, 20, & 21
• Students Meet teachers, received Microsoft Teams codes, reviewed course expectations and communication tools for use during Remote Learning
• Students who were unable to attend orientation should check their school email and Skyward account for information for their classes.
  

Morton West is OPEN

• School facilities will be open daily on a limited basis, for access to Internet connectivity, or a supervised, safe, quiet, and cool place for students to engage in their coursework.
• These spaces will not be available for “hanging out,” they will only be used with assigned seating for quiet study.
• Students must come in uniform, with their student ID and technology to participate in remote learning .
• Social distancing, face covering and other health and safety rules are strictly followed.

Morton West is OPEN

• School facilities will be open daily for students looking for a safe, quiet, and air-conditioned space for students to engage in their coursework with stable Internet connectivity.
• These spaces are supervised by staff for students to do remote learning while at school.
• Office Hours are available daily and appointments are recommended but not required. Occupancy limits apply, so it is recommended that students contact teachers in advance.
  
• Students must wear their school uniform and student ID. Students should bring their laptop computer to participate in remote learning .
• Social distancing, face masks and other health and safety rules are strictly followed.
