Please review the checkout procedures belows. If you are planning to checkout, someone from your checkout list must come in the school and sign you out.

Monday: Regular 8 period day: Welcome Back Students - Please be on time. Tardy bell rings at 7:45. Basketball @ Etowah; Southside Christmas Parade - 6:00! Rainbow City presents "A Gold City Christmas" - 6:00!

Tuesday: Regular 8 period day: Sleep in Heavenly Peace PJ Day sponsored by Peer Helpers - Students may wear PJ pants to school with a donation of $2 (or more) to the Sleep in Heavenly Peace organization. Wrestling vs. Piedmont/Coosa; Bowling @ Trussville; Gadsden Christmas Parade - 6:00

Wednesday:Odd Block Schedule: Fall Athletic Signing Day during Panther Period. We will invite our athletes to the signing in the auditorium. Signing Day will start around 1:00. Track Tryouts 3:15 @ RMS Track

Thursday: Even Block Schedule: FCA meets at 7:15 in LC; Path lessons during Panther; Basketball vs. Springville; Band Christmas Concerts in Biddle Auditorium 6:00

Friday: Regular 8 Period Schedule: Good luck to our V/JV Girls Basketball as they travel to Thompson

All students that are tardy, checking-in to school or checking out of school MUST GO THROUGH THE FRONT OFFICE. We have a new finger scan system in place (very similar to the lunchroom finger scan system) where each student will scan in or out with check-in/check-outs and tardies.

A parent, guardian, or someone on your check-out list MUST sign you out of school to checkout. This is the same as always. The student must then go through the office to scan out before leaving. This procedure must be followed.

We do not accept over the phone checkouts. Please do not call the school for a checkout. Someone on the students checkout list must come and sign the student out of school. Please do not email to the school for a checkout.

If there are extenuating circumstances or an emergency situation, please contact an administrator or the front office.

Please remember how important attendance at school is! Please don't checkout of school unless absolutely necessary. If you are absent, please turn excuses in to front office.

Students: We are getting close to the end of the semester. What is the most important thing you have learned this semester?

Our fall athletic signing date is currently scheduled for December 04 at 1:00. All Southside fall signees participate in one big event with refreshments for signees, parents and coaches directly after the ceremony.

Southside High will have the main signing table set up and invite the media/newspaper and sports writers. Student athletes are responsible for table decorations in their respective collegiate colors.

Please remember to follow our dress code policy! Remember - Cell phones are not allowed to be out or used in any classroom! Only clear or mesh backpacks allowed in classrooms. Fast food and outside drinks are not allowed in the building! Please throw this away before entering the building.

Students are not allowed to exit the building to go to your car, even if you forgot something you really need! If you need something, you have to go through the office and an admin or SRO will escort you to your vehicle. Disciplinary consequence will apply if you do not follow these procedures!

This will be enforced!
