Attendance
Whole School Attendance this week - 93.2%
We are aiming for at least 97% - let's work together to make this happen!!
Please remember that if your child is going to be absent from school you should call school before 8.30am to report this. If they are off for multiple days, you should call school each day that they are off. If your child is suffering from something such as a cough or cold we do recommend that you send them into school and see how they get on. It is amazing how many children perk up once they get into school and we can assure you that if it becomes evident that a child should not be in school we will make contact with yourself as parent/carer.
As a school, our attendance has greatly improved over the last year and this is all thanks to you and the effort you are making in getting your children into school every day.
Weekly Reflection
This week is Anti-Bullying Week and our word of the week has been 'respect'. Christians believe that God made us with all our differences and that God loves us as we are. So, when we say words to others, we should remember that differences are a good thing. We should also remember that words can hurt people. However, kind words can make someone feel much happier.
Can you remember a time when you have hurt someone else with the words that you said? Consider saying sorry to that person. Remember to think carefully before you speak.
Dear God,
Help me to know that I am wonderful, in all my differences. Help me to say kind words to others. Help me to think about other people and to remember that my words make a big difference to them.
Please help me to help those who are sad.
Thank you that your words to me are always kind.
Amen.
Safeguarding
What is bullying?
On the whole bullying consists of escalated behaviours beyond “normal” falling out with peers.
Bullying is the repetitive intentional hurting of another person where there is an imbalance of power. It can be physical, verbal or emotional. It can happen face-to-face or online.
It is important we do not label every negative interaction that occurs among children as “bullying.” There are incidents of unkindness, conflict or falling out with friends which may not be bullying.
Please encourage your child to tell an adult if they are treated in a way that makes them feel uncomfortable, upset or unhappy. It is important we address this as quickly as possible.
