NURSE'S NOTES
WINTER 2020
TODAY'S MARIJUANA AND TEENS...INFO PARENTS NEED TO KNOW
SCREENING UPDATE
Hearing screenings have been completed. Scoliosis and heights and weights for students with 1st half of the year gym classes have been completed. These screenings will happen shortly for students with PE the 2nd half of the year. Most vision screenings have been completed. Students who were absent or did not bring their glasses to school will be screened in the next few weeks. If your student did not pass the screening, you should have received a referral letter in the mail. Please remind your student to bring their glasses to school (and wear them)!
COLD vs. FLU
We continue to see students with colds, respiratory viruses and the flu. We do not have cold medication in the nurse's office, so please medicate your student before they come to school.
Students should remain home until they are fever free for 24 hours without fever reducing medication. We have immunocompromised students in the building and sending your student to school with a fever puts these students at risk.
SPRING WILL BE HERE SOON...AND SO WILL ALLERGIES
Allergies/asthma will begin to become issues for those who suffer sooner than you think! Please remember to start over the counter allergy medication before everything blooms! We do not give allergy medication in school unless students have an order from their doctor and you send it in to the nurse's office. Also, please send your student's inhaler to school if they have an order from the doctor so it is available since gym classes will be going outside soon, etc.
