It's Classified Appreciation Week and we have so many amazing employees to celebrate! Our secretaries, bus drivers, campus security, special education assistants, cafeteria staff, health room assistants, BEA's, custodians, media technicians, prevention-intervention specialists, testing coordinator, SSIA's, and career guidance technicians are all classified staff who's work is critical in support of our students and teachers. It's our honor to recognize you this week- thank you for all you do to keep the work in teaching and learning moving forward!
A big CONGRATS to our drama club for their student-led production! It is the first for Ms. Hix, our new drama advisor. The cast and crew received a standing ovation on opening night, and I'm so proud of the young people who have been working very hard since January to make this happen!
Thursday last week and this coming Monday we welcome our newest Tigers as they visited BGHS for lunch, tours, an opportunity fair, and an ASB ran assembly. We invite all parents of upcoming Freshmen to join us for a 9th grade Parent Night Monday Night, form 6-7pm in the LAIR.
Please also come to our annual Spotlight Concert, this Thursday at 7pm. It's one of my favorite events, featuring so much talent! Thanks to Mr. Linder for all your work in making this event happen!
Just a reminder, we do have school this Friday (it's a snow make-up day). Have a beautiful week, BGHS!

Replacement education and operations levy on the April 22 ballot
Battle Ground Public Schools’ board of directors has unanimously approved placing a replacement education and operations levy on the April 22 special election ballot. The decision comes after the previous effort failed in February by 60 votes, garnering 49.85% support with 30.81% voter turnout.
If approved, this levy (proposition 9) would continue funding for programs and services not fully funded by the state. It would replace a current levy set to expire at the end of 2025. Check our levy information page for details on what the levy pays for, the expected cost to taxpayers and much more.
School calendar adjustments for snow days
Due to weather-related school closures on Thursday and Friday, Feb. 13-14, the district will use two snow makeup days on the calendar. The first of these is Friday, March 14. A second snow makeup day will be used on Wednesday, June 11, shifting the final day of school by one day. Early release dates will now be Tuesday and Wednesday, June 10-11. Please note that any future weather-related closures will require additional changes to the calendar.

Family and Community Resource Center in need of donations
Battle Ground Public Schools’ Family and Community Resource Center helps meet the needs of families facing challenges. As a donation based program, the FCRC relies on our community to help fill the shelves and those shelves are emptying fast. Right now, they have severe needs for items including soap, hygiene products, socks, underwear and more.
View a list and information on how to donate by visiting the district website.
Care Solace: Your link to mental health support!

Report Incidents Anonymously with Safe Schools
Please report bullying, intimidation, harassment, threats and safety concerns using our anonymous reporting system. Reporters can remain anonymous. Emergencies should always be reported to 911. Learn more about emergency procedures and safety protocols.
Report, don’t repost
If you see or hear of a possible threat, please report it to law enforcement directly and/or to school staff. This is the best and most helpful action because it begins an investigation and helps to limit the potential for misinformation to spread. Reposting or sharing a threat on social media in an attempt to warn others spreads the threat farther from its original source and may cause unnecessary alarm and fear. You can report bullying, intimidation, harassment, threats and safety concerns using our anonymous reporting system. Emergencies should always be reported to 911.
