Updated List of Approved Evidence-Based Reading Intervention Programs
Additional materials have been added to the approved list of Reading Intervention Programs following completion of the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce’s program review. The Department’s list of approved Reading Intervention Program materials includes all submitted materials that met the required criteria. The review process is ongoing for materials that may have elected to appeal the Department’s decision.
Information regarding timeline updates and supports for districts and schools in selecting materials is available on the Department’s website.
Questions regarding district requirements for high-quality instructional materials in English language arts may be sent to ReadOhio@education.ohio.gov.
Updated List - Approved Core Curriculum and Instructional Materials in English Language Arts
Additional materials have been added to the approved list of prekindergarten and kindergarten-grade 5 core curriculum and instructional materials in English language arts following the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce’s Phase 2 extension review. The Department’s list of approved core curriculum and instructional materials includes all submitted materials that met the required criteria. The review process is ongoing for materials that may have elected to appeal the Department’s Phase 2 decision.

Special Education Profile Updated With Additional Indicators
The third and final phase of the 2023-24 Special Ed Profiles was released May 16, 2024, These indicators include:
- Math and reading assessment proficiency and participation rates (Indicator 3a,b,c,d)
- Discipline discrepancies (Indicator 4a,b)
- Least restrictive environment for school-age students (Indicator 5)
- Least restrictive environment for preschool students (Indicator 6)
- Preschool outcomes (Indicator 7)
- Enrollment by disability category
Districts must complete all required activities detailed in the Special Education Profile to demonstrate compliance with IDEA. Profiles are available through the OHID Portal.

Second Application Period for Career Technical Education Equipment Grant Open Until June 28, 2024
The second application period for the Career Technical Education Equipment Grant Program is now open. This funding helps schools purchase up-to-date equipment so they can better prepare students to be career-ready upon graduation. Learn more and apply by June 28.
