BRAHMA BULL-etin!
Sunday the 26th to and through Saturday the 01st
"The limits of our success are just the limits of our energy" - Brian McCook (Submitted by Jasmine Barrientes, Junior)
Greetings Brahmanians,
This past Tuesday I had the honor of recognizing our NEISD Blossom Scholarship recipient Magdalena Vargas. The $5000 scholarship is awarded to one student at each high school that has committed to earning a degree and entering the field of education. Magdalena was one of MANY great applicants. Her passion and desire was so evident throughout the interview process. Congrats future teacher!
Keep in mind that the deadline for submitting course request changes for the 23 - 24 school year is May 25th. Make sure you meet with your counselor and develop a clear graduation plan.
There are ONLY 6 Saturdays left in this semester for students to attend and complete credit recovery Saturday School. Please take that into consideration with your upcoming plans.
Let's have another wonderful week Brahmas!
All the best.

🤘🏽 College - Career - Military Readiness
Hello Brahma Families!
One week down already for these 4th Nine Weeks. The finish line for this school year will be here before you know it!
The next TSI session will be Saturday April 1st. I know April 1st is Prom but there are students that want to test so I will provide the opportunity. The sign up for Seniors is on the Counseling/CCMR Google Classroom and students seeking to enroll in Dual Credit will sign up in the Dual Credit Google Classroom.
Graduating Seniors, on the door of the College and Career Center (as well as around campus), there is a paper with a QR Code to report Scholarship information to the AP Office. As you are receiving scholarships and awards, please report them so that your achievements will be listed in your Graduation Program.
Also, for graduating Seniors that are planning to attend college this is for you. If you are receiving Financial Aid Awards and are not quite understanding or are not sure what to do, please visit with me in the College and Career Center. I can explain how it works so you can be confident in accepting or rejecting certain awards.

Mac "Save the Date" for STAAR/EOC Exams 03122023
During Spring 2023, NEISD students will have the opportunity to take various state assessments mandated by the Texas Education Agency (TEA) for their respective grade levels. NEISD is committed to providing all our students with the knowledge and skills to be successful on the state assessments. The state assessments for MacArthur High School are listed below:
Tuesday, April 18th - English I (*9th Grade class)
Thursday, April 20th - English II (*10th Grade class)
Tuesday, April 25th - Biology (*9th Grade class)
Tuesday, May 02nd - US History (*11th Grade class)
Wednesday, May 03rd - Algebra I (*9th Grade class)
*Please note that where I listed a specific grade class, I am referencing when that class is typically taken, so the exam corresponds. If your child has not passed the exam previously, they will be scheduled to take it this spring. Students must pass their state exams in order to qualify for graduation.
Mr. Hernandez, Principal
Information
Creative Arts | NEISD Night Gallery/April 5th:
If you want to check out some of the top artwork from the high schools and middle schools in our district then you for sure need to go to Night Gallery. It is held at Blossom Athletic Center from 5:30PM to 7:30PM. MacArthur art teachers will only be there on the night of the 5th but if you can't make it that night, then you can go the day before on the 4th. If you have never been before it is an incredible sight, and it's free. We also use this event to raise scholarship money for the Memorial Art Scholarship. People can buy these red dots (4 for a $1) and place them on artworks they enjoy. That money goes to three artists and last year our very own Mac student, Alissa Murphy won for having the best portfolio! You can see one of her works on the cover of this year's Night Gallery poster.
