ATHLETIC DEPARTMENT - Week of April 14, 2024
HIGH SCHOOL ATHLETICS
GIRLS VARSITY LACROSSE
EHT Girls Lacrosse started out strong over the weekend with a win over Marlboro on 04/13 7-5! Some highlights from that game included : Taylor Lear with 3 goals, Jenna Gray with 2 goals & 6 draw controls, Skyler Wood & Jossalyn Gagnon with 1 goal, Angelina Petracci & Jamie Decker each with 1 assist and Brielle Hill with 7 saves!! The girls then played Atlantic City on Monday and came out with a win of 17-1! Tough loss on Thursday, 04/19 vs. Woodstown but our girls did not go down without a fight! Skyler Wood and Jossalyn Gagnon each had 1 goal in this game! As the ball was mainly on the defensive end, our defense gave it their all with Angelina Petracci, Osa Unuigbe and Leah Arreguin coming up with 1 forced turnover each! Brielle Hill also had 5 saves this game!
EHTHS Girls Lacrosse has a big week ahead of us with all home games this week : St. Joe's Hammonton on Monday - 04/22, Oakcrest on Wednesday, 04/23, Absegami on Thursday, 04/25 and Middle Township on Saturday, 04/27! Girls Lacrosse will be hosting a Purple Dedication Cancer Awareness Game on 04/25 this week against Absegami where our girls will be dedicating their play and wearing purple to those affected by cancer!
GOLF
The Eagles continued to grind through the middle of the season this week, spending three straight days at Buena. They began in tough conditions Tuesday which led to mixed results. Senior Captain Johnny Neveling shot -1 35 while junior Chase Adomaitis shot 42. Seniors Ryan Griffin and Carson Bellak rounded out the scoring.
On Wednesday, the Lady Eagles tested their skills as well. Junior Olivia Nehmad finished 1st of 28 golfers with a 44. Sophomore Julie Duggan shot 48 to finish 5th. Freshman Camille More finished 7th.
On Thursday, the JV team got their time to shine. The team finished 2nd led by Freshman Miles Haviland's 46. Juniors Jason Graham, Neto Asiegbu and sophomore Alex Griffin rounded out the scoring.

VARSITY SOFTBALL
EHT softball is currently 8-2.
This past week both Payton Colbert and Sienna Walterson reached 100 career hits!!! This week Gabi Jones had her first homerun as an EHT eagle and Briana Pope had her first homerun in high school.
We play rival Kingsway on Saturday for top spot in South Jersey!!!!

Cape Atlantic League Player of the Week
Jacob Cagna, Egg Harbor Township, Jr., SS
EHT defeated Hammonton and Lower Cape May last week, while suffering an American Division loss to Mainland. Cagna delivered in all three, going 7-for-13 at the plate with two doubles, three RBIs and four runs scored. His top performance came against Mainland, when he went 3-for-4 with a double and two runs scored.
Sabott, Salsbery team up for no-hitter as Egg Harbor blanks Buena 3-0
Winning pitcher Troy Sabott and reliever Jason Salsbery combined on a no-hitter to lead Egg Harbor to a 4-0 win over Buena in Egg Harbor.
Sabott tossed five innings, striking out seven and walking two. Salsberry came on and closed the door with two strong innings, fanning two without a free pass.
Egg Harbor broke a scoreless tie with a run in the fourth and added two insurance runs in the sixth to improve to 4-2.
BOYS VARSITY VOLLEYBALL
Boys Volleyball Record: 5-2
The boys dropped back-to-back competitive matches to Absegami 26-24, 23-25, 19-25 and Hammonton 25-19, 22-25, 20-25 to bookend the weekend. They played back into winning form with a convincing 25-19, 25-20 victory over a strong Oakcrest team on Wednesday. Senior captains Chriistiian Vichierat and Joshua Buruschkin led the team to victory with fourteen of the teams twenty-four kills. Today, they travel to Cedar Creek to hopefully secure their sixth win in eight matches before travelling to Pinelands Regional for a trimatch with Washington Township. Both matches will have major South Jersey Group IV playoff implications.
FLAG FOOTBALL
The Girls’ Flag Football team won a tough game against rival Mainland 19-6. Junior Thaina Saintel had two receiving touchdowns, Junior Journey Green had a 42-yard rushing touchdown, and Sophomore Mariah Newman had two interceptions. Our staunch defense was led by Seniors Taylor Rooney, Sam Reed, Kylie Wright, Sophomore Daniela Ramirez, and Cami Bird. The girls are home this Friday, April 19 against a tough and talented Kingsway team at 4:15 on the turf.
BOYS TRACK AND FIELD
The Boys Track Team improved to 3-0 on the season with wins over Ocean City and Oakcrest. Event winners were Xavier Aucule in the 400IH, Mike Simeon in the SP, and our 4X400 relay of Jake Karp, Rami Orellana, Xavier Aucule, and Christopher Manzo.
GIRLS TRACK AND FIELD
Over the weekend the girls' track and field team competed at Lenape Invitational. Kiki Schlemo placed 2nd in the 800. Amari Pinkett placed 3rd in the 400 hurdles. The 4x400 finished 3rd with a team of Samantha Reed, Taylor Rooney, Amari Pinkett, and Kiki Schlemo!
The weekend before the girls competed at the Deptford Relays. The DMR (distance medley relay) placed 3rd with a team of Michaela Schlemo, Devyn Per, Taylor Rooney, and Amari Pinkett. Ava Kraybill and Amari Pinkett placed 3rd in the 2x400 intermediate hurdles.
The girls’ track and field team placed 2nd overall at the 50th anniversary of the Woodbury Relays on Saturday April 20th. 1st Place Distance Medley Relay consisting of Devyn Per, Amari Pinkett, Taylor Rooney, and Kiki Schlemo. 3rd Place 4x800 Relay consisting of Bithania Andemariam, Rachael Bellentini, Adalyn Scoppa, Addison Lambert. 3rd Place 4x100 Relay consisting of Samantha Reed, Natalia Flores, Jasmin Halim, and Gabrielle Hiltner. 3rd Place 4x400 Relay consisting of Samantha Reed, Kiki Schlemo, Taylor Rooney, and Amari Pinkett. 5th Place Triple Jump - Amari Pinkett
The girls will face Millville Tuesday 4/23 as they honor their seniors at senior night prior to the start of the meet. The girls will also travel to the prestigious Penn Relays next Thursday, 4/25.
BOYS TENNIS
Today was a sweet victory as EHT Boys Tennis won on all 5 courts against Wildwood Catholic. These boys have shown great improvement since last year's season. We have a young Varsity team that includes 3 juniors, 3 sophomores and 1 freshman as our top 7. Only great things to come from these EAGLES!!! Current Record 3-1
