Week 15
All systems are GO!
Our website is live https://educationalpassages.org/boats/dmsanita/
Tech Team
Team members met each morning at 7:30 to drill the holes in the hatch, to secure the sensors and the camera. It's been a busy week for these guys.
Water and air temperature sensors were tested this morning as well. Here is our first set of data from Anita
Deck Team
Final designs were painted onto the deck. Each crew member has also signed their name to the rub rail of the hull.
Media Team
The members met each morning in the lab with the tech team to document all the exciting progress. They will be traveling with the launch team on Tuesday afternoon to capture Anita's transition onto the Endeavor.
In keeping with media, our on deck camera will send back 10 or so photos. This was the test photo from this morning.
Sail Team
A few members met early in the mornings as well to complete the designs. Today they each added a small design of their own to the bottom of the sail.
Launch Team
The Launch Team has big plans for the week ahead! On Tuesday afternoon they will travel to the Narragansett Bay Campus (URI) to meet the crew of the Endeavor (our deployer) and drop Anita off. The crew moved the boat out in front of our school this morning to make sure the GPS was fully functional. Here's the proof!
Cargo Team
Crew members took some time to go through our collected items and make a priority list for what will fit into our cargo hold. This little albatross's name is Wisdom. She was the mascot at last year's Ocean Race leg that docked in Newport. A member of our group from last year created this mini version during our Crochet Club after school.
Mini Wisdom will be at the top of our priority list! ❤️
