I hope that you had a wonderful weekend! Next Monday, 11/11, there is no school for Veteran's Day.

It is Admissions Season, for any of your friends of family that are interested in applying to AOC for the fall of 2025, they must attend a mandatory meeting. The zoom meetings begin this week. Parents must register to receive a link to the meeting. Please see this link for more information. In order to receive an application, they must attend one of the mandatory online information meetings.

New Survey: AOC Mascot Ideas

Hello again, AOC! I’m Jaden, a senior at Academy of the Canyons. My Senior Capstone Project, “AOC Forward,” is a student-led initiative to redesign our school's current logo and visual identity—involving all our community members at each step.

A few weeks ago, we encouraged as many as possible to share their thoughts about AOC’s current logo and mascot via an initial outreach survey. According to the 250+ responses we received, many seem open to the prospect of introducing a new mascot to represent our school.

Thus, we’d once again like to reach out to AOC students, faculty, staff, alumni, and families to generate ideas for our new mascot. Please share your ideas through the attached Google Form:

Hi AOC Students and Families!

My name is Eridian and I am a Senior at AOC. For my Senior Capstone Project, I am holding a book drive for a Children’s Hospital LA program called Literally Healing!

I aim to collect donations of NEW, RECENTLY BOUGHT books from AOC students and families to give back to this program which has helped me so much during my in-patient stays at CHLA. I am accepting donations of all kinds of books, ones for young kids, older kids, teens, and even adults, and books of many different genres such as fantasy, and fiction. The drive starts today Monday, November 4th!

I am only accepting new, recently bought books because the program only accepts new, recently bought books as a precaution against infection risk. The program operates out of a hospital and mainly gives books to in-patient children in said hospital.

I deeply appreciate any and all donations of new, recently bought books, and am hoping that you will fill out the form linked below to sign up to donate! This form will help me to anticipate the number of books being donated each week, and help me to make space for them.

AOC and WSHUHSD Thanksgiving Holiday is from 11/25-11/29.

COC Thanksgiving Holiday is only from 11/28-12/1.

You are expected to attend COC classes. We will see you back in school on Monday, 12/2! Have a great break!

Located on the campus of College of the Canyons, AOC is proud to be the middle college high school in the William S. Hart Union High School District serving students 9th-12th grades in the Santa Clarita Valley. Students have the opportunity to earn between 24 and 44 transferable college units, prior to receiving their high school diplomas. Upon graduation, the majority of Academy students pursue their post high school education by continuing at COC and completing their college transfer requirements in only one year after high school. Other AOC students go directly into a four-year university, bringing their community college units with them and placing themselves well into their freshman and sophomore years at the college level. While attending AOC as a high school student, community college tuition is waived for established California residents.
