CCSD Star Graduate
Congrats to Milagros ""Mila"" Diaz for being named Coronado Star Graduate. ⭐🎓
Tell Mila that something is impossible, and she will show you why most things are possible, and she will do so with grace, grit, and a spirit of tenacity! Her latest bout of “you think I can’t?” prompted her to lead over 70 students in a fun run, using, as she calls it, her “favorite life-tool;” her wheelchair.
Milagros “Mila” Diaz; at her birth her mother was told that she would not walk, talk or see. Mila continues to astound doctors; enduring through 12 surgeries for severe Spina Bifida. She has fought to keep her faith and will to live life to the fullest through a plethora of medical and mental setbacks.
Her goal has been to graduate with high grades, get into a college program to become a counselor and to serve as a role model to encourage her peers to be their best selves, despite any challenges they may face.
Mila has used the obstacles in her life in writing and presenting inspirational lessons of empowerment to groups, including Hope Squad, and in leaving a footprint on the hearts of students and staff.
Mila can not walk, but she sure can talk to energize others and sense what others need. This girl is a mover and shaker; she currently holds three board positions for student clubs.
Congratulations to Star Graduate Milagros “Mila” Diaz of Coronado High School.
