CCSD Honors LVA Staff and Police Officer for Life-Saving Actions
Today, CCSD recognized Las Vegas Academy of the Arts staff and a Clark County School District Police Department Officer for their prompt action that helped save the life of a student who experienced a medical episode on campus in January.
Multiple LVA staff members swiftly provided life-saving efforts, including CPR and the use of an AED to help LVA student Sophia “Finn” Whittacre until first responders arrived on campus. Thanks to their efforts, Whittacre has recovered and is now back on campus.
Whittacre, her family, LVA Principal Lezlie Koepp and CCSD leadership including CCSD Chief of Health and Student Services (@CCSDHealthServ1) Dr. Monica Cortez, Region 2 Superintendent Celese Rayford as well as School Associate Superintendent Monica Lang all honored the staff members with certificates as well as a Proclamation from Clark County Commissioner Michael Naft.
