Friday Family Message
Hello Families
Elger Bay Elementary is seeking a new principal starting next school year, and two other Stanwood-Camano principals will move schools.
After two years as principal at the Camano Island school, Tim Dickinson will transition to the role of Stanwood Middle School principal on July 1. Dickinson replaces Tod Klundt, who is transitioning to the role of Church Creek Campus principal on July 1. Klundt replaces Ryan Pike, who accepted a job outside the Stanwood-Camano School District after three years leading Lincoln Hill High, Lincoln Academy, and Saratoga School.
The Elger Bay principal job opening will be posted on the District website, www.stanwood.wednet.edu/jobs.
I hope you join me in thanking Principal Pike for his dedication and service to our students and our schools.
In addition, we are committed to staying engaged with the community every step of the way as principals Klundt and Dickinson transition to their new roles.
Elger Bay students, families, and the community will have opportunities to provide input and feedback on the search for the new principal via surveys and community meetings. Look for links at www.stanwood.wednet.edu, on District social media accounts, and in weekly school newsletters throughout this month.
A diverse team of individuals from the community, staff, and the District Equity Team will be involved in candidate interviews later this month. The selection would be announced in the days after the interviews.
Let's honor our amazing educators!
All next week we celebrate teachers! The annual Teacher Appreciation Week is a time to recognize the incredible educators who dedicate themselves to shaping the minds of our students.
Our dedicated and talented staff are more than just instructors. They are mentors, cheerleaders, and encouragers. They spark curiosity, ignite passions, and inspire students to help them succeed in the future of their choice.
Thank you for your making a difference in the lives of so many!
Round of applause
Congratulations FBLA students!
All 39 Spartans placed in events at last week's Washington FBLA State Business Leadership Conference. Even more impressive considering statewide membership is up 28% this year with more than 2,300 competitors.
Some of the many highlights include:
- Hunter Sparrow won the election to serve a second year as our NW Regional Vice President. Hunter also was selected to receive the "Who's Who in FBLA" award and our members chose him as the "Outstanding Member."
- Chloe Corbett (Stanwood FBLA Chapter President) received the President's Award, and earned second place in Future Business Leader — considered the most difficult event with a 100-question test, resume, and interview. She also made finals in Electronic Career Portfolio.
- Brooke Berry (Stanwood FBLA Chapter VP of Membership) made finals in Public Service Announcement and Public Speaking, then went on to take eighth place in PSA and second in Public Speaking.
- Rachel Rahman earned second placed in Intro to Business Procedures, eighth in Intro to Marketing Concepts, and 10th in Intro to Business Communications.
- Our Stanwood FBLA Marketing team (Hayden Pappas, Greyson Pierce, and Cole Williams) took fourth place.
- Our Stanwood FBLA Banking & Finance team (Quinn Ferguson, Cole Williams and Hayden Pappas) took seventh place.
- Our Hospitality & Event Management team (Camrie Ingram and Hunter Sparrow) took eighth place.
