Lincoln Bulletin-
This week was teacher appreciation week, and I want to reiterate the appreciation for everything our teachers and staff are doing to maintain connections, routines, and learning for our students. Their hard work does not go unnoticed any year but especially this year. Thank you to our PTO for the wonderful signs they hand-delivered to all of us along with gift certificates to various businesses in St. Charles. We appreciate the kindness and generosity.
As we approach our final weeks of school we continue to see our students working hard, but also it is time to celebrate the end of a very unique year. Classrooms, teachers, staff, and students should be proud of what they have accomplished this year. Over the final two weeks, we will have opportunities to share and celebrate our learning, and culminate our year "Building something awesome together" through non-traditional virtual gatherings!
Be on the lookout! We are working on a plan for classroom cleanout and will be sharing the details and process through a ParentLink message on Monday afternoon.
I will host a few more virtual recesses the schedule is below. Second grade is sharing their writing using Flip grid so we can see each student reading their book and we can comment, a virtual writing celebration-the link was shared in this morning's announcements. Last Friday in our morning greeting kindergarteners shared their problem posters, such great critical thinking and problem solving done by our youngest students!
Virtual Recess--In an effort to maintain connections and have kids informally socialize I am scheduling virtual recess. We did this the past few weeks, kids go to https://meet.google.com/ and then join the meeting inputting the code below.
They cannot join ahead of time, I have to open the meeting, so if early keep trying the code.
We will share, talk, and possibly play would you rather or another game.

SEL Lessons: Week 5 SEL
Week 5
This week’s SEL lesson focuses on relationship skills and their development through communicating effectively. Make sure to check out the information and resources highlighted for parents. This weeks competency is:
Relationship skills: The ability to establish and maintain healthy and rewarding relationships with diverse individuals and groups. This includes communicating clearly, listening actively, cooperating, resisting inappropriate social pressure, negotiating conflict constructively, and seeking and offering help when needed.
The challenges and uncertainty facing families and children are impactful on overall mental health and well being. We are hopeful the resources shared will be a support to parents/guardians and children. If you have any questions on the information provided or are seeking additional support for yourself or child, please contact Patti Palagi, Director Instructional Interventions (patti.palagi@d303.org or 331-228-6457).

Fridays During Remote Learning
We want students to learn every day! Monday through Thursday our teachers will be providing lessons. Friday is a day to continue learning by completing lessons, catching-up on past or missing work, or doing enrichment lessons.
Please visit the website D303 Optional Remote Learning For Students to access enrichment lessons. In addition to the weekly SEL activity, the website houses a variety of optional learning experiences in the areas of math, digital citizenship, English Language Arts, college and career, and STEM. We encourage you to ask your child to engage in the SEL lessons before exploring the other choice options. Although these optional learning experiences were designed for use on Fridays, students are welcome to engage in the learning experiences on the website anytime.
