Agenda Highlights
Superintendent's Report
Elevate -- James McMillin, a chief school leadership officer (high schools), and members of the Elevate Core Team reviewed the Elevate and Pathful Explore platforms, which serve as a digital scrapbook and individual learning plan for students in grades 6-12. These platforms support our district's college and career readiness initiatives and empower students to build a personalized, sharable digital product that reflects their skills, interests, and achievements in FCPS. A pair of students and two teachers also spoke of how Elevate has impacted their experience. "You're teaching our students to pause and reflect, and I'm really excited because this is a skill we need," said Vice Chair Amy Green.
Academic Services -- Assessment Director Brooke Stinson shared the latest numbers and trends from the Brigance Kindergarten Screener and the Measures of Academic Progress (MAP), which tests students in grades K-9 three times a year. "We're making great gains when it comes to this adaptive assessment," Stinson said of MAP, adding, "Our teachers meet to adjust instruction and provide accelerated supports to all of our students."
