We get so many rainbows at Cornwall School. I swear it's more than anywhere else! Last week we were treated to this double rainbow at pick-up time, a bright spot in the midst of changing, dark, often dreary weather. Thanks to Stever Bartlett for snapping this cheery photo and sharing it with me.

Cornwall School will be closed for the December break from December 23 to January 1. We will see you all in 2025!

Thank you to the dozens of families who make the Winter Crafts tradition possible at Cornwall, and for giving our students the opportunity to make such beautiful things. This is a truly lovely, special tradition.

Cornwall's beginning and experienced band members gave their first concert of the year last Friday. Especially when we consider that some students have only had 5 lessons with their instruments so far, their courage and progress was quite amazing! The full band played 3 pieces that helped them learn to read and play 3 different pitches on whole and quarter notes. The experienced band shared pieces in multiple parts, including a duet, a major scale as a round, and the beginning of the legendary "Rock Point Five," featuring improvisation by James on drum set. Everyone worked hard to play together and follow their conductor. We look forward to our next concerts in February!

There were so many books! Ms. Abby reminded us that this isn't the "medium-sized" Book Giveaway, it's the BIG BOOK GIVEAWAY. All year, Ms. Abby collects books through donations and grant-funding. Today class was invited to the library, and each student chose three or four books to take home. Thank you for all the donations, and thank you, Ms. Abby, for this wonderful tradition!

Our FY26 Budget development process is underway and we invite the ACSD community to learn more and share feedback as we build toward a final budget:

• On January 6 at 6:30pm, the ACSD Board meeting will offer an overview of the full ACSD FY26 Budget spending plan (MUHS Library or virtual).

• On January 9th at 6:30, Superintendent Baker will host a virtual Public Input Session where the ACSD community can ask questions and share feedback. (Use this meeting link (password: ACSD)

Fridays, 2:50-3:50 PM, January 10 - February 21, 2025

Grades 3-5. Meet in 3rd grade classroom

Magic is a great strategy card game where players battle each other with creatures and spells. Each player has a deck of cards they must get to know well so they can best outwit their opponent. (Strong reading skills are helpful but not required.) New players will be provided with a card deck. Returning players are also welcome and will be part of a tournament!
