Message from Mrs. Proctor
Dear Parents and Guardians,
I hope this message finds you and your family well.
At Naomi Pasemann Elementary, we are deeply committed to continuous school improvement, and we're writing to share an update on the significant strides we've been making. Our dedicated staff has been working diligently to foster academic growth for all students, implementing targeted instruction, additional academic interventions, and data-driven strategies to meet the needs of every learner.
We're proud to report that our efforts are yielding positive results. According to our most recent Texas Academic Performance Report (TAPR), overall campus performance in math and reading has increased, and our progress monitoring during the 2024–2025 school year shows that this upward trend is continuing. This ongoing growth truly reflects the hard work and dedication happening in our classrooms every day.
It's important to us to provide a comprehensive picture of our school's progress. Based on the Texas Education Agency’s 2023 Accountability Ratings, Naomi Pasemann Elementary School received an overall rating of "F." This rating is based on data from the 2022–2023 school year, which includes student performance on the State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness (STAAR) as well as other academic indicators used by the TEA. While this rating reflects a moment in time and certainly isn't the outcome we strive for, it doesn't fully capture the progress and hard work happening every day at Naomi Pasemann ES.
We also want to provide context for the 2023 accountability ratings. In 2021-2022, STAAR underwent a significant redesign, known as STAAR 2.0, which had a notable impact on student scores across the state. Key changes included the introduction of new question types requiring higher levels of thinking and analysis, the use of cross-curricular reading passages and evidence-based writing tasks, an increase in passing thresholds, and a full transition to online testing. These statewide changes influenced results across many campuses, including ours.
We're energized by the progress we're making and committed to creating a more vibrant and supportive learning experience for every student. Thank you for being valued partners in this journey; we eagerly anticipate the exciting achievements that lie ahead as we continue to grow and succeed together.
Sincerely,
Cynthia Proctor
