Message from Mrs. Proctor
NPE Families,
What a great week of learning!
Every day at school is a valuable opportunity for learning and growth. When students are absent, they miss out on important instruction, classroom discussions, and opportunities to interact with their peers. These experiences are vital for building a strong foundation for future success.
We are so grateful for your continued support and collaboration. The strong family bond we share at NPE is a true blessing, and we value your partnership immensely.
TARDY BELL is 7:55 am.
DISMISSAL is 3:20 pm.
Finally, I can't stress the importance of your child being at school. Every day or partial day your child misses is lost learning time. If you are having trouble getting your child to school for whatever reason, we are here to help. Please reach out to your child's teacher, our counselor - cnuckols@taylorisd.org or John Matthews - jmatthews@taylorisd.org. We have resources to help you!
As always, if you need anything, please reach out by emailing me at cproctor@taylorisd.org.
Thank you for your continued partnership. We value your support and believe that our shared commitment to open communication and transparency is key to ensuring the success of our students at NPE.
Your passionate principal,
Cynthia Proctor, M.Ed.
Please send in those Acts of Kindness! We are looking for 100.

Attendance Matters
Be in your seats gets you a treat!
TISD Student Attendance
School attendance is vital to the present and future educational success of your child. Regular school attendance is essential for a student to make the most of his/her education.
TEXAS COMPULSORY ATTENDANCE LAW
Under Section 25.085(2) applies to students who are at least six years old as of September 1st of the applicable school year. The law requires a student to attend public school until the student’s 19th birthday. Students enrolled in prekindergarten or kindergarten are required to attend school and are subject to the compulsory attendance requirements as long as they remain enrolled. (Section 25.085(c).
When a student is absent, the student must bring a note to the attendance office within three days of the absence. After three days, parent notes may not be accepted and the absences will be considered unexcused. A maximum of three (3) parent notes per semester will be accepted as excused.
TISD Truancy Prevention Measures:

Warning Letter #2- 6 or more unexcused absences

Truancy filed on the parent and the student upon the 11th absence.
We understand that unexpected events can sometimes impact school attendance. We work hard to create a positive and engaging learning environment, and we encourage you to partner with us in ensuring your child is present to fully benefit from their education.
Nurse's Corner
Notes from the Nurse:
We have been seeing an increase in flu cases on our campus. Please remember that per Taylor ISD policy, students who have fever of 100.4 or higher need to stay home and must be fever free without the use of medication for 24 hours before they can return to school. Also, if your student has vomited or had diarrhea at home, they cannot come to school until their symptoms have subsided.
As always, please encourage proper hand washing throughout the day, especially before eating! Thank you for your help in this matter. Please contact the nurses office with any questions.
Please email Nurse Gomez at mgomez@taylorisd.org with any questions or concerns. Thank you!
