Walking With Mary in May
Each week during May, GSACRD students are learning about a particular virtue of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Teachers will highlight a Scripture passage, a fact about Mary and focus on encouraging students to live out that virtue in their daily lives.
At the end of each week, one student from the school will be recognized for exemplifying Mary’s virtue and will receive a "Mini Mary" as a symbol of their Marian witness. Below posted are the Week 1 and Week 2 students.
Week 3: is a focus on Mary’s Compassion & Intercession
Scripture: John 2:3 – “They have no wine.” (At the wedding at Cana, Mary noticed a need before anyone else and brought it to Jesus—her first act of intercession.)
Students are encouraged to be aware of the needs of others. Help classmates, offer prayers for someone who is struggling, and practice kindness without being asked.
Blessings for a wonderful long weekend,
Mrs. Kleparchuk & Mrs. Crowston

Moose Hide Campaign Walk
Next Wednesday, May 21, we will be participating in Moose Hide Campaign Day — a national movement to stand against genderbased violence and support reconciliation.
This is an important opportunity for our students to engage in meaningful learning and advocacy under the theme:
“Step Up, Speak Out: The Titans' Commitment to Ending Violence.”
Event Schedule & Activities:
1:00 PM – Awareness Walk
We will begin a school-wide walk around the ravine at 1:00 PM. Staff will get a class set of moose hide pins for students to show their support. JH will team up with Div 1 and lead the walk, Div 2 will follow behind.
Project Goals:
Raise awareness about the Moose Hide Campaign and its mission
Encourage open conversations about gender-based violence and reconciliation
Promote personal and collective responsibility in creating safe, respectful communities
Engage students in visible, meaningful advocacy

Gr. 6 Camp Day at Nakamun
A much-loved tradition for our grade 6 students, they spent the day at Camp Nakamun today. They enjoyed activities such as zip lining, climbing the climbing wall, and swinging on the king swing. The students had a wonderful day of outdoor activities in amazing weather, bonding and encouraging everyone. What a great experience for the students! Thank you to the parent volunteers and Mr. Runco for the wonderful day.
Being in the Present Moment
Remember the famous "are we there yetttttttt"? Or “How much longer?!?”
Teaching patience with your child takes time and while your child’s brain is still developing it takes a great deal of self-control. There are so many benefits in teaching your child the skill of being patient and being in the present moment.
Research shows that children who grow and learn to be patient adults have stronger relationship skills, better mental health and have more success in living with a growth mindset.
This guide from Big Life Journal will help your child see the ways they can stay present in the moment (especially when they are feeling extra impatient).
