Summer is Here!
Wrapping up 2023-2024
π΄ A Message from Mrs. Milligan πΊ
Mayβs final stretch:
What a fun and exciting month May brought! We had lots of excitement in each classroom as learners and staff had competitions, field trips, memory books, and end of the year wrap ups to engage learners in reflection and celebration! One highlight I wanted to share with you was our Inclusion month. Although we were not able to hang the bulletin board of each learnerβs artwork we were able to showcase it in the office. Looks like it will be a summer work project! Ms. J and Mrs. Grina took an opportunity to ask learners what inclusion means to them. Please take a moment to hear how inclusion and acceptance looks at Freedom Elementary!
I hope you all have a safe, memorable summer. To keep the learning momentum going we encourage our Freedom learners to play math games and read books throughout the summer! We will see you in the Fall!

Hi all,
Just a friendly reminder of some summer safety tips that should have come home with your learner in May. Please feel free to talk about these tips and add anything else that may be helpful to keep your learner safe this summer.
These tips are just some basic reminders to start the conversation of practicing safety.
Happy Summer, Freedom families!

Freedomβs Schoolwide Annual Review and Evaluation Results
As a requirement of our Title I schoolwide status, Freedom Staff recently completed a review of our schoolwide plan and programming. This was completed during an after-school staff meeting on May 6th, 2024. Our staff reviewed our instructional strategies and learning activities; the effectiveness of our communication and collaboration; our schoolwide programming and goals and the use of student assessment.
As part of the Title I Assessment of Parent Involvement, a survey was sent to all parents in March (before conferences) to evaluate the effectiveness of Freedomβs parent involvement activities throughout the year.
Some strengths that were noted include: Reading, writing and handwriting improvements, social emotional growth, improvement in confidence, improved organization and time management, engagement in learning, English language, vocabulary growth and improved problem solving. Parents noted that their children like going to school at Freedom Elementary!
Parents, thank you for your input. We value your feedback. Our staff is proud of the year we have had and are committed to continued success.
