PRINCIPAL'S UPDATE
Hello Eagle Crest Families
Can you believe we’re in the final stretch of the school year? It’s been a joyful week full of traditions, celebrations, and a whole lot of school spirit!
Today, our school-wide field day brought smiles, sunshine, and serious fun—thanks to the incredible leadership of our fifth-grade students! They planned every detail, and it was such a great way for them to wrap up their time at Eagle Crest while giving back to the whole school. We’re so proud of the role they played in making it such a special day.
Tomorrow, we’ll gather for our last student-led assemblies of the year, hosted by our amazing student communications team with guidance from the one-and-only Katy Schwirtz. It’s always a highlight to see our students take the lead and shine in front of their peers.
And also on Friday, we have the special tradition of welcoming back the graduating class of Silver Creek High School. These former Eagle Crest Eagles will be walking our halls once again—this time in caps and gowns! It’s a powerful moment for our younger students to see what’s ahead and to cheer on those who once stood where they stand now.
Wishing you a fantastic weekend ahead!
Warmly,
Amanda

DEAN OF STUDENTS’ UPDATE
Hello Eagle Crest Families,
As we wrap up another incredible school year, we are thrilled to share some updated details about our annual Eagle Crest Music Festival and All-School Picnic on the last day of school!
New This Year: To improve viewership and overall experience, all performances will be held indoors in the Eagle Crest Gym. We know this change will help everyone enjoy the show more comfortably!
Performance Schedule:
Kindergarten & 1st Grade – 9:00 AM
5th Grade Continuation Ceremony – 10:00 AM
2nd & 3rd Grade – 11:00 AM
4th Grade – 11:30 AM
Following their performances, all students will head outside to join the school-wide picnic on the playground at 11:00 AM. Families are welcome to enjoy lunch together, connect with friends, and celebrate the end of a fantastic year.
Important Reminders:
All visitors should enter through the east gym doors (near the bike racks) instead of the main front entrance.
Parking will be very limited. Please plan to arrive early and consider walking or biking to ease congestion and get the most out of this joyful event.
If you plan to take your child home after the picnic, please sign them out with their teacher at the beginning of the picnic. Each teacher will have a sign-out sheet at their picnic spot.
The Mwebaza Foundation will also be hosting a Kona Ice fundraiser and school supply drive during the event—every purchase and donation supports students at our partner school, Mwebaza Annex in Uganda.
We can’t wait to celebrate with you! Thank you for making this community so special. Your support and presence, means the world to our students.
All the best,
Lindsey Cheney
Dean of Students

NEWS FROM THE LIBRARY
The excitement of summer reading is almost here! Today, librarians from the Longmont Public Library visited our school to share all the amazing programs and activities they have planned for students this summer.
Your child will be bringing home their Summer Reading Bingo Board this week—be sure to check Thursday Folders so you don't miss it!
If you submitted a library card application to Mrs. Beckett, your child will receive their new library card next week.
LOST & FOUND
Is your child missing something? Our Lost and Found is overflowing with items once again! Please drop by the Main Office before or after school to claim your belongings, these items will be donated soon. Consider labeling your child's coats, gloves, layers, lunch boxes/containers, and water bottles with their names – it can make a significant difference! While we do try to check items for names, many items remain unclaimed due to the lack of labels.
iPAD SETTING UPDATES FOR 2025–2026
As part of our district’s Learning Technology Program (LTP), we’re making a few key updates to student iPad settings to support safe, focused, and consistent digital learning. Starting next school year, all elementary student iPads will display a universal St. Vrain Valley Schools background to create a cohesive learning environment. Additionally, 4th and 5th grade students will be required to set a passcode to help protect their personal information—staff will assist with setup and password resets as needed.
We’re also implementing an improved web filter to ensure safer internet access both at school and home. In some cases, schools may apply additional restrictions to individual devices to better support learning. These changes are designed to protect student privacy and promote responsible technology use, while still encouraging creativity, exploration, and collaboration. If you have any questions about these upcoming changes, please contact Katy Schwirtz at schwirtz_katy@svvsd.org.
