January 31st Edition
And just like that, January is over!
It’s hard to believe we’re already moving full steam ahead into February. Last month was a wonderful start to the new year, filled with learning, snow, and reconnecting after the holiday break. As we embrace this new month, there’s so much to look forward to—exciting activities, meaningful celebrations, and continued progress toward our goals.
February is a time for love, kindness, and reflection. Whether it’s celebrating Black History Month, Valentine’s Day, or the many milestones happening in our classrooms, this month offers countless ways to shine and spread positivity.

A Note from Mrs. Lovejoy in the Media Center
We have exciting news parents... we have two author visits coming up! (More info to come about the 3rd-5th grade author visit in March.)
Katrina Moore will be presenting to our kindergarten through second graders on February 21st!
Ms. Moore cannot wait to come and engage/ inspire students as she spotlights one of her 14 published books. She will build excitement, encourage prediction making, and build background knowledge before even reading the book! Then she will facilitate a collaborative discussion to connect with her story, reread, aid the children in being book detectives, and finish with an inclusive whole group activity.
As a special treat, you can pre-order any of her books, and she will autograph them personally, the day she comes!
Ordering instructions for parents: Make sure to include Taylor Elementary, the child's name and the child's teacher in the order notes to make sure the order gets to your school and to your child. Orders will be shipped to the school for the event.
Click here to pre-order a book online
OR...
