Good Afternoon PCMS Families!

Well, we finally made it to the last week - even with Mother Nature thinking we needed a few extra days to get the job done! Just a few months ago, we were showing 6th graders how to open a locker, maneuvering through lunch, and watching the first volleyball and football games. It flies by and it’s been an awesome year for our Pirates! Tuesday and Wednesday are business as usual until Thursday, when we’ll send ‘em home 3 hours early after cleaning out lockers for the last time. Who knows what lost treasures (and surprises) we might find 🤪!!

One week to go!! GO PIRATES!!

🧡 This Week's Character Dare 🧡 This Week's Character Dare

The CharacterDare is a heart workout, inviting students and adults to practice kindness, patience, and respect with themselves and others. These school-wide challenges encourage staff and students to put character into action, fostering personal growth and positively impacting school culture.

This Week's CharacterDare is: Gratitude Gram (see below).

👕 Lost & Found 👕 Lost & Found

Our Lost and Found rack is exploding with over 100 items! We would love to get these items back to their owners as quickly as possible. Please ask your students to check the Lost and Found rack to see if anything might belong to them or parents are welcome to come in and check at any time!

After School gets out for the Summer, we will be donating any items left over to charity.

Notes from the Nurse - Medication Pick-up Notes from the Nurse - Medication Pick-up

Prescription and over the counter (OTC) medications that have been brought to the school must be picked up prior to student dismissal at 11:50 on the last day of school. You will not be able to pick up any medication remaining in the health room after the students are dismissed. All medications remaining in the health room will be disposed of.

Prior to the last day of school, the health room will be open on regularly scheduled school days from 7:30 am to 2:40 pm. You may pick up your student’s medication during those hours.

Please contact the school nurse in advance:

  • If your student is attending summer school and you would like to have the medication available for your student during summer school.

  • If you do not plan to pick up your student’s remaining medication.

Incoming 8th Grade Students

Incoming 8th grade students are required to be compliant with immunizations prior to the start of the 2025-2026 school year. Proof of compliance for the Tdap (tetanus, diphtheria, and pertussis) and the MCV (meningococcal) vaccines must be received for all incoming 8th grade students. These vaccines are typically given around age 11. Plan ahead this summer and don’t wait until August! Appointments will fill up quickly as the new school year approaches! Contact your health care provider or the Platte County Health Department at www.plattecountyhealthdept.com.

Thankyou

🏌🏻 8th Grade Parents: Platte County Golf Team Information 🏌🏻 8th Grade Parents: Platte County Golf Team Information

We thought we could provide players and parents with a better understanding of how the golf team works.

We are a competitive team that is always in the hunt to finish strong in the conference and at districts. Our goal is to put the best 5 players on the course when we get to the end of our regular season play. This gives us the best opportunity to finish well at the Conference Tournament, District Tournament, and hopefully State Tournament.

Unfortunately, we are a "Cut Sport" and if the number of players reaches over 15, we will need to make cuts. Every player will participate in the evaluations and the qualifying holes. There will be three qualifying days if weather permits. We will drop the highest score and average the two lower scores. The scores on the holes do not determine the team, but are used in combination with the evaluations to make the decision on the team roster.
