CANNED FOOD DRIVE
The canned food drive starts November 1st and
ends Monday, November 14, 2016. These cans provide needed food for families in our area during the holidays. Let’s all help take care of others by providing food to families who need our support. Please bring in Thanksgiving nonperishable foods starting tomorrow. Other food items always needed are corn, green beans, peas, baked beans, fruit, soup, peanut butter, jelly, tuna, ravioli, beef stew, chili, and cereal.
Nurse Linton is also seeking volunteers on November 14 from 9:30-11:30am to help sort and box the canned good donations. Please meet in the cafeteria. If you are available to help, please email Nurse Linton or call 686-1733.

Come to Our Fall Parade
Our Fall Parade will take place Monday, October 31st at 2:30 on the playground (weather permitting). In the event of rain, we will have the parade in the gym/stage/cafeteria area. Students will parade with their class then return to their classroom.
Please remember that we are in an elementary school so gory, scary costumes or weapons of any kind will not be permitted.
LOST AND FOUND
Be sure to check out the lost and found in the next couple of weeks for any of your child's lost articles! A good time to do this is when you come for your parent/teacher conference. After conferences are over our Make a Difference Committee will be donating remaining articles to our sister school, Winton Hills Academy.
Strike Up The Band For Hunger

Sycamore Strong Magnets
Want to show your community spirit? Are you Sycamore Strong? Montgomery Elementary received a limited supply of additional #sycamorestrong car magnets for the taking. Just stop by the office and grab one before they are gone!
T-Shirts and Teddy Bears
During the month of November, bring in your new or gently used t-shirts and stuffed animals to help kids in need. We are working with the Ohio Chapter of "SAFE" (Stuffed Animals for Emergencies) to help them find a new home! Some of those homes include: Children's Hospitals, the YWCA, and children with disabilities. In many cases, your donations will be used for birthday and holiday gifts for kids who otherwise may not receive any gifts. Please drop your donations off in the school lobby-- look for the large brown box under the staircase. Please note: stuffed animal donations should be run through the dryer on low-setting for 10-15 minutes. The SAFE organization does further cleaning, but they've asked that we do this initial step. If a stuffed animal cannot be run through the dryer, it will not be accepted (i.e., stuffed animals with plastic attachments). For more information see Adeline Murphy or contact Alicia Murphy.
Join T-Shirts and Teddy Bears
We are looking for 3rd and 4th graders who are interested in being part of the T&T Team. These students will assist in organizing the donations and will be invited to help deliver some of the T-Shirts & Teddy bears to a Christmas Carnival Party in December. Time commitment will most likely include one 1-hour block of time after school, and one 3-hour evening in December (time/date TBD). We will be limiting this group to 25 students, so if you're interested please e-mail Alicia Murphy.
SAVE THE DATE
Save the date for Montgomery Elementary's SUPER Carnival. Join us for fun and games suitable for superheroes of all ages on Friday, January 27th, 2017 from 5:30pm - 9pm. It will be a night you and your mini-superheroes won't soon forget!
Have super powers you can share with us? Please contact Co-Chairs Betsy Rinehart or Paaras Parker to get involved.

Or take advantage of After-Halloween candy sales! Place your donations in the box located in the main office by the PTO mailboxes starting November 1.
