Team Curington: One Team, One Dream
Principal's Corner
Hello, Curington Families!
Welcome to a new week. This past week, our school was able to celebrate all of our veterans at our Veterans Day Ceremony. We would like to once again thank our nation's heroes for serving our country. We want to thank our student council, our choir, our science/social studies committee, and our music teacher, Ms. Knauff, for helping put this event together.
Our school also received over $3,000 dollars in Boerne Education Foundation grants last week! We want to thank our teachers for applying for these grants in which the projects support our school and our students!
This Tuesday, we invite our families to join us for our 4th Grade Musical at 6 pm in the CES cafe. We are looking forward to seeing our students perform!
Our campus goal continues to be 96% or higher each day! Thank you for helping us bring your child to school each day. Please review the reminders below for our upcoming events.
Have a great week of learning!
Go Cougars!

If you believe your child would benefit from this program, please take the time to submit a referral during this window. Additional information about the process, including the referral link, can be found on the district’s Advanced Academics website linked below
We encourage you to reach out with any questions or concerns you may have regarding the referral process. Thank you for your continued support in fostering our students’ growth and potential.
Looking for Career Day Speakers
Parents,
This year we will have a "Career Day" for our students at CES; our tentative date is February 14th, 2024. In order for us to provide a powerful learning experience for all, we are planning ahead and asking our parents for assistance in this endeavor. We want to know what our students' parents do for a living and if they are willing to come and share their experience in their specific field with us. If you are willing and able to participate in our special "Career Day" this year, please complete the following form.
Note: This is for the purpose of identifying our options only at this time and does not bind you to any commitment. After we gather this information, we will then reach out to select parents to plan our presentations. This interest form will be open from November 18th through December 18th .
Thank you!.

Attending School Regularly
Students who attend school regularly have been shown to achieve higher levels than students who do not have regular attendance.
- Excused or unexcused absences represent lost time in the classroom and lost opportunities to learn.
- Official attendance times are 10am for Elementary and 10:30am for Secondary.
- Appointments should be scheduled at the start or end of the school day to be counted as D=Doctor Appointment Same Day and not as an absence. Students must be present a portion of the day for a D absence code.
- If the student is out the entire day, they are absent.
- Every student's situation is different. If there are barriers keeping your student from being at school, please reach out to us.
Tutors, Crossing Guards and Dads on Duty
We would like to invite anyone interested in tutoring, volunteering, crossing guard after school opportunity or becoming a Dad on Duty to contact our school or email our principal's secretary (Celia.Moreno@Boerneisd.net) for more information. All visitors must have completed a volunteer background from which can be found in our Boerne ISD website page.
