Course Program of Studies:
Required Courses: US History I, US History II, Modern World History
Strong AP program of studies (4 courses with a new course AP Government and Politics in the fall)

Our Department Vision Is:
In the Social Studies department all students will develop into responsible, engaged citizens who are prepared to succeed in the world beyond graduation. The perspectives gained through the study of Social Studies allows for the growth of empathetic individuals who are respectful of global and cultural diversity. The academic rigor and instruction within the department coursework fosters independent critical thinkers with coping skills to persevere through challenges. Skills that students develop will be applied in the ever changing technological world.

As your high school years come to a close, SBRHS would like to celebrate your future plans. Class of 2024 Events Calendar
May 3, 2024
- Junior-Senior Prom 6pm-10pm Omni Providence, RI
- Check in is 5:30-6:30 p.m.
- Students who are driving themselves must use the valet parking. There is a $10.00 discounted rate for this. Students should pull up in front of the Omni and use the valet.
- **Please be sure to plan your rides to Providence paying attention to the Washington Bridge Traffic. It is possible that the ride may take longer than usual.

Senior Lunch
- Students will report to the SDC during your scheduled lunch period-information to follow
- Cap and gown distribution during Senior Lunch -Please remember all financial and other types of obligations need to be met prior to receiving your cap and gown.
- When you bring your cap and gown home, please be sure to take it out of the bag and hang it somewhere to get the wrinkles out of the gown. If you must, steaming the gown works best. Ironing your gown could damage/burn the material.

Get a few yearbook signatures from your Middle School teachers and principals
Elementary School Walk-throughs–1:30 p.m.
- The principals of North, South, Chace and Berkley Community School invite students back to elementary school
- Students are asked to wear their graduation caps (& gowns if you’d like)
- Elementary students will cheer, greet, and honor the Class of 2024
- Go back to where it all started and, maybe get a few yearbook signatures from your elementary teachers and principals

Reminders:
Students please be sure to clear out your school Google Drives. For information on Google Transfer please click the link.
As of August 1, 2024 you will NOT have access to your school Google accounts (emails, files, etc.) and all email, files etc. will be deleted and unrecoverable so please plan accordingly.
Starting June 1st, you should be using a private email account to communicate with colleges, military, etc.

Mean Girls Opens Thursday
Student Work on Display at the Griffin Museum of Photography
Four students were selected to have their photography displayed at the Griffin Museum of Photography Secondary School Exhibition. There will be a reception on Sunday, May 5 from 2-4 pm at the Milton Academy Arts Commons Gallery at 170 Centre Street in Milton, MA as well as an online exhibit. Congratulations to Kien Stafford, Billie Martel, Bethany Moniz & Benjamin Miller.
Scholastic Art Award Recipient
