Oct. 23-27th Red Ribbon Week
Costume / Halloween Parade
RJ is excited to celebrate with our students with a school-wide costume parade on Tuesday, October 31st @ 8:30AM, weather permitting.
Our parade will begin at 8:30 and all students will line up with their homeroom classes and parade through the campus front circle of the school for a costume parade.
- Parents are invited to attend the parade by lining our front circle drive as each student and class will walk through.
- All parent vehicles should be parked in a designated parking space to attend the event and parents will line the circle drive in designated places to cheer on their student in costume.
Costume Day Important Reminders:
- Students are invited to wear appropriate costumes to school this day. Please ensure that your child's costume is school appropriate (Nothing that promotes the use of illegal substances or activities or are derogatory, gory, disrespectful or depict violence.)
- No full face masks or weapons (nun chucks/sickles/swords/knives/guns, etc).
- All students will get to participate in a school wide costume parade and will have the opportunity to change out of their costume if needed or necessary for the remainder of the school day. ***Please send a change of clothes with your child if their costume will present distractions throughout the day.***
- Students or parents who have questions about the acceptability of their costume should check with their homeroom teacher prior to wearing the costume to school.
- Students wearing inappropriate costumes will not participate in the parade and will call home to have a change of clothes brought up to them. PARENTS: Please help support an appropriate, distraction-free learning environment for all students by assuring that your student adhere to these guidelines.
Costume Guidelines:
Costumes need to not interfere with learning. This means no full-face masks, no costumes that restrict movement or vision, prevent from sitting or standing, or prevent participation in recess or physical education.
- Students can not use the school bathrooms for getting ready before the parade. They need to come to school in the costume. Face paint, make-up, hair coloring spray should not be brought to school.
Costumes may not be violent or suggestive and may not have accessories or props that could be used as a weapon or look like a weapon.
